FREMONT, CA: MapR Technologies, a provider of enterprise big data analytics, announces converged data platform and introduces MapR Streams, a global publish-subscribe event streaming system connecting data producers and data consumers worldwide for big data with unlimited scale. MapR Converged Platform accelerates data-driven applications and addresses emerging needs of Internet of Things (IoT) by integrating file, database, stream processing and analytics.

The MapR Streams integration with converged data platform enables organizations to improve their responsiveness in critical events by continuously collecting, analyzing and acting on streaming of big data. It provides enterprise features including high availability, disaster recovery (DR), security, and full data protection with easy scalability in handling large data flows and long-term persistence.

MapR integrates data-in-motion and data-at-rest in one converged platform enabling developers to create new innovative applications that reduces data duplication and movement. It minimizes the integration and maintenance costs associated with multiple platforms and increases the results of business.

The developers can utilize the potential of a continuous, converged, and global data platform with MapR Streams by easy building of scalable, continuous high-throughput streams over thousands of locations with millions of topics and billions of messages. While using existing open source projects such as Spark Streaming, Apache Storm, Apache Flink, and Apache Apex, the solution reduces data duplication, latency, and cluster sprawl by uniting analytics, transaction, and stream processing. It enables reliable message delivery with auto-failover, and order consistency with unlimited persistence of all messages in a stream. It ensures cross-site replication for building global real-time applications.

“Bringing together world-class Apache Hadoop and Apache Spark with a top-ranked NOSQL database and now continuous, reliable streaming with global scale is a huge step forward in enabling enterprise developers to create the next-gen apps using big data,” says Anil Gadre, Senoir Vice President, Product Management, MapR Technologies. “MapR continues to execute on its vision of making it easy for enterprises to get the competitive edge from big data by bringing together all of the essential components.”
