NEW YORK: MetTel, a provider of telecommunications services and solutions announces the release of an enhanced SD-WAN solution for enterprise and mid-market customers to enable global businesses to benefit from a fully managed network deployment that manages all underlying carrier deployments, billing and maintenance.

SD-WAN solutions are a widely requested communication solution in the market, suitable for businesses operating in the retail, healthcare, hospitality and transportation industries.

The latest solution allows businesses with active multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) networks locked in contracts to access the benefits of SD-WAN through MetTel’s extensive layer 3 backbone network connections, instead of normally having to wait until end of contract to benefit from this new technology. This method can also be applied to enterprises running their own virtual private network (VPN) via various IP access services.

With the new SD-WAN solution, MetTel allows users to take advantage of a fully managed network deployment and enabling them to expand and unify the transport models they're using in their campus and remote networks.

MetTel’s deployment of SD-WAN service is suitable for organizations seeking to tackle security concerns and mesh legacy networks. By using the SD-WAN access service as an on-ramp to present backbone networks and enterprise specific routing domains, MetTel enables enterprises to provide quality networks to internal users by diverting traffic off of public internet clouds as swiftly as possible. This allows for greater insights and quicker response time when network issues arise, better Quality of Service for managed networks that support voice, and helping direct private connections to cloud services like Office 365 and Amazon Web Services.

MetTel’s enhanced SD-WAN solution provides benefits such as reduced total cost of ownership; Combining bandwidth such as DSL, Cable and 4G LTE into a single connection; assurance of application performance; simplification of branch deployments with cloud-based gateway provisioning based on pre-defined policies; reduced hardware costs and consolidate branch equipment into a single, cloud-controlled device; and reduced overall downtime with application steering and traffic prioritization.

MetTel’s SD-WAN solution features an IT Portal for policy management and path optimization; application-aware real time bi-directional Quality of Service; network usage monitoring; international coverage with speeds up to 10GPS; and private, portable IP addressing.

“When dealing with a multilayered, hybrid solution like SD-WAN, organizations should consider consolidating all related products under a single network to fully realize its potential,” says Gary Gluzman, Executive Director of Product, MetTel. “MetTel’s holistic approach is ideal for organizations that are looking to maximize the savings, flexibility, efficiencies and security features that render the technology so popular for enterprises today.”
