LAS VEGAS: PCTEL, a provider of telecommunications services and solutions announces the availability of its new GPS Transport Solutions. The kitted solutions include hardware from Optical Zonu, another telecommunications services and solutions provider.

The GPS Fiber Transport solution The GPS Fiber Transport solutions deliver reliable GPS signals from PCTEL's high rejection GPS antennas to cellular base stations at a location of up to 5 miles away. The increased fiber transport range frees in-building and small cell networks from design restraints.

The advancement over coaxial cable configurations translates into greater deployment flexibility and decreased costs.

PCTEL's GPS Fiber Transport Solutions are fully customizable for the particular needs of public or private wireless networks. In addition to GPS antennas and Optical Zonu hardware with an IP67-rated enclosure, typical kits often include PCTEL's RF surge protection, low loss RF coax assemblies, and fiber optic cable assemblies and splitters.

"Optical Zonu has selected PCTEL as a primary sales channel partner," says Gary Grimes, Optical Zonu's Director of Sales, RF Solutions. "We chose PCTEL because they already provide carrier-approved antennas, they are established with many of our customers as a source for the complete GPS Fiber Transport installation kit, and they have proven to be responsive to customer needs," added Grimes.

"PCTEL's easy-to-install fiber transport solutions leverage our leadership in high-rejection GPS antenna technology and our application engineering capabilities," says Rishi Bharadwaj, Vice President and General Manager of PCTEL's Connected Solutions. "Optical Zonu is the leader in this field, and we are proud to include their products as part of our solution," added Bharadwaj.
