FREMONT, CA: Sophos, a provider of network and endpoint security solutions unveils synchronized security protection against subtle threats with Sophos Security Heartbeat capability of Sophos XG series of next-generation firewalls and unified threat managements (UTMs).The latest technology links next-gen firewalls and UTMs with endpoint security to share threat intelligence enabling faster detection of threats, automatic isolation of infected devices and faster targeted response and resolution.

Security Heartbeat offers visibility into an organization’s security based on intelligence received from various sources such as endpoints and next-gen firewalls. It can trigger a response to stop or mitigate malware outbreak and data breach. The Sophos XG firewall leverages the data provided by Sophos endpoints to isolate and restrict access to and from the affected devices, simultaneously, endpoint protection can resolve the attack.

“Today Sophos has taken the next big step in next-generation security. Organizations of every size know they need endpoint security and network security – they are two foundational pillars of any IT security strategy. But for too long, these two product segments simply didn’t communicate with each other – they were independent and isolated silos, which limited their effectiveness and their manageability,” says Kris Hagerman, CEO, Sophos. “Only Sophos links leading network security technology with leading endpoint security technology together in a coordinated and integrated approach. This is synchronized security that delivers both better protection – and better manageability – for organizations of any size.”

Sophos XG Firewall

The Sophos XG firewall is packed with numerous features including a Network Security Control Center that provides an innovative interface for users delivering instant network and threat intelligence. It has a unified policy model with pre-configured templates for business apps and a risk analysis feature to identify high-risk users and applications. Sophos Firewall manager centralizes management of multiple firewalls which is free for Sophos partners and managed service providers (MSPs).

The cloud management feature in the solution enables Sophos partners and MSPs to manage multiple Sophos XG Firewall installations from the cloud using new Sophos Cloud Firewall Manager. Sophos XG Firewall can run on existing Sophos SG appliances and Cyberoam NG appliances.
