More often than not, the major catalyst for this transition is technology and a better understanding of the needs of the future. A case in point can be the massive transition that the global HR industry has been going through in the past few years. Although HR has always been considered as a critical function for any organization, but most HR solutions were designed keeping only HR professionals in the mind. Solutions providers completely ignored the other component of HR functions, the employees. However, over the past few years there has been a shift from solutions that were focused only on making an HR professional's job easier, to solutions that keep the employee at the centre. These solutions help them learn and collaborate, share feedback, set goals, steer their own careers and manage people efficiently. Another factor to be kept in mind is the critical role played by relatively new technology trends such as mobile, big data, cloud, gamification, analytics etc in the HR industry. It is interesting to note that companies across the globe are optimistic when it comes to invest in HR technology solutions. A major component for the functioning of the HR industry is ERP. ERP providers are now becoming end to end HR technology providers. A report by Bersin by Deloitte indicates that the development of the new HR software categories of feedback, engagement and culture management will become prevalent in the years to come. Needless to say, the future for HR technology will harbor innovative solutions that will be focused towards improving efficiency and garnering better employee engagement.Do let us know your thoughts.Rachi V SharmaManaging Editoreditor@apacciooutlook.comEmployee Centric Solutions to Gain Presidency over HR Centric Solutions
