Led by the video-gaming industry, the buzz and application of AR/VR are spreading in sectors like manufacturing, retail, and education. Many companies have already successfully built simple glasses that can project flat images for their wearers especially in the warehousing and medical spaces, leaving the users' hands-free to complete their tasks with ease. Great scopes of AR/VR are being realized in the field of marketing and advertising to improve communication with the clients. Tech giants are investing into VR and AR-based hardware and software. To stay on top, each one is countering the other. The list goes on--Magic Leap and Meta are building extra-efficient headsets to sense the surroundings and react to them, projecting convincing, three-dimensional illusions onto the world. Google is gaining tremendously from its sizable stake in Magic Leap, and Microsoft's HoloLens, which represents the first, fully self-contained holographic computer is already under trials in medical schools. By 2021, the industry is projected to be worth a staggering $108 billion. These advancements leveraging the AR/VR technology indicates that the day is not far when the thin line between the physical and digital world will get vanished--opening vast opportunities for enterprises to create beautiful and inspiring experiences. On that note, we present to you a special edition on Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality Technology. We hope you enjoy reading this edition.
