Dell's New Capabilities in Elastic Cloud Storage to Reduce TCO
FREMONT, CA: Dell announces new capability of Dell EMC Elastic Cloud Storage (ECS) to enable enterprises embrace digital economy for better business insights. ECS reduces the total cost of operation in businesses by 60 percent compared to the public cloud storage powered by the new enhancement in Dell EMC PowerEdge Servers.
ECS aims to help businesses by adding new capabilities to datacenters and provide faster time to market and cloud economics. The organisations can deploy the cloud-native applications to optimize the legacy technology infrastructure and advance towards digital transformation.
The new capabilities enable ECS to run on popular PowerEdge Servers such as Dell EMC DSS 7000 and the Dell EMCR730xd. The ECS D-Series comes with a storage capacity of 6.2 PB enabling organisations with tape replacement efforts. The Dedicated Cloud Service integrates ECS with private cloud control to increase efficiency and flexibility of the public cloud. ECS further offers enhanced monitoring and storage capability to the end user.
The Internet of Things has changed the legacy business infrastructure and embarks the need for digitalization in enterprises. A study by “Dell Technologies” reveals that 78 percent of the global business marked start-ups can cause a major threat to the organisation while half of them considered the rise of digital start-up as the major challenge in future.
