April, 20206 Over the past several years from when Agile was just a concept to then taking its spot as a firmly established set of software development methodologies, Agile has continued to evolve and mature, as experience leads to improvements, refinements, and new uses. There is now an increased focus on agility at scale, along with better ways of integrating business delivery into engineering teams. This means organizational alignment and structural changes are in order. At the same time, portfolio management and executive teams would no longer have to plan through longer cycles as these are cut down to quarterly or better yet monthly cycles. With business agility being critical, Agile is seen moving toward more formal structures like Scaled Agile Framework SAFe 5.0. But with change comes challenges. For corporations and government entities, the problem would be to incorporate old managerial styles and structure into SAFe. To ensure that they remain competitive and innovative, business and management leaders need to utilize lean and Agile practices in their enterprise. In the very near future, the adoption of Agile initiatives of a larger scale will grow faster. Despite the idea of extending Agile from standalone Scrum teams to large scale programs is still on the back burner for most organizations, they are slowly but surely opening up to the prospects of Agile at scale. Agile practices have grown continuously from just being centered on IT to spreading out into various business departments. As this expansion continues, the original principles of Agile software development will start being applied to new departments such as Agile Customer Service.Considering change as an opportunity rather than a risk, agile methodologies have taken on the future. From having improved customer satisfaction, gaining a competitive edge in the digital era, enhancing the quality of processes, and escalating productivity of IT teams, the agile approach to software development has had ripple effects throughout businesses.Business organizations are increasingly tapping the value provided by Agile methodology, and as such, there is no shortage of Agile Solution Providers in the market today. Our goal with this special edition is to highlight the best-of-breed Agile Solution Providers that are shaping up the industry.Do let us know your thoughts.Annie JohnsonEditorialThe Slow Burn to Large Scale AgileAnnie JohnsonManaging Editoreditor@apacciooutlook.comTo subscribe to APACCIOOutlookVisit www.apacciooutlook.comArt & GraphicsAmelia StewartJohn GothamToby LangtonJie Ch'angManaging EditorAnnie JohnsonSenior WritersLane Adams Clara MathewRoyce D'SouzaEditorialAlfred MardinLouis BeckerRachael ClarkRoy ChowDai ShihDan StanleyCopyright © 2020 ValleyMedia Inc.
