Anson Network: Comprehensive Mitigation of DDoS Attacks

Asia Telecom Marketing Manager,Ben Wu, Anson NetworkBen Wu, Asia Telecom Marketing Manager
Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks, a part of the cybercriminals’ weapons for over two decades, seems only to evolve. As its sophistication and complexity increase, DDoS attacks are more harmful than before in terms of packet volume and scope, paralyzing websites and server devices, and bringing businesses to a standstill.

Today, with the widespread use of 5G mobile phones and millions of Internet of Things (IoT) devices, DDoS attacks could use these new weaknesses and bring mass destructions. In the war against DDoS attacks, an enhanced solution that is effective in mitigating the new classes of DDoS attacks is the need of the hour. “We have developed an anti-DDoS core engine to fight against the continually evolving threats and serve our clients based on their unique requirements,” says Ben Wu, Asia Telecom Marketing Manager of Anson Network.

The company is redefining the security landscape by offering internet security solutions, worldwide connectivity, cloud, and IT services. Its enhanced solutions and services fight against new DDoS attacks, allowing organizations to focus on their core business goals with increased efficiency, flexibility, and security. “Our focus is on anti-DDoS solutions with a flexible and highly-customized service to get rid of layer 3, 4 and part of layer 7 attacks, then completely mitigate sophisticated and large DDoS attacks.” emphasizes Wu.

The company’s anti-DDoS solution, Anti-DDoS Protected Service (ADP) Clean Pipe’s main features are auto-learning of the normal behaviors associated to clients’ services, real-time analysis of attack, and integration of worldwide attack analysis data. ADP Clean Pipe also allows customers to define filtering by country, IP, protocol, port number, string, and application layer parameters.

ADP Clean Pipe’s structure includes distributed and hierarchical filtering.

Our focus is on anti-DDoS solutions with a flexible and highly-customized service to get rid of layer 3, 4 and part of layer 7 attacks, then completely mitigate sophisticated and large DDoS attacks

While distributed filtering filters out the nearest source of the attack, hierarchical filtering performs both worldwide protection and customized protection.

Another product in Anson Network’s catalog is its Tier III+ (IDC) that offers its fundamental infrastructure with high availability, modularized design, customized IDC service, and automatic management. The Tier III+ IDC guarantees stable and safe internet service with Active-Active or Active-Standby cluster configuration for organizations.

Earlier, Anson Network used anti-DDoS devices and scrubbing service from third-party providers, which caused a delay of protection as the packages of the attacks had to be collected and taken to the service provider to analyze the reason. But today, with its new anti-DDoS engine and DDoS scrubbing centers that monitor, detect, and mitigate attacks, Anson Network can immediately solve issues, ensuring non-stop service delivery to its clients. Anson Network’s system separates traffic arriving at DDoS protection scrubbing center into legitimate and non-legitimate requests. Then legitimate traffic is allowed to pass through for normal operation while non-legitimate traffic is denied access to the website.

In order to ease clients’ problems, Anson Network always stands by its esteemed clients for finding a better way to combat DDoS attacks. A year ago, one of Anson Network’s major clients was attacked by layer 3, 4, and 7 DDoS attack, which is the new attack behavior of layer 7. Millions of new accounts were built in one hour, overwhelming the database system of client. The malicious requests were like normal HTML requests, which crashed the client’s web platform. To counter the DDoS attacks, Anson Network teamed up with the client, designed an appropriate solution, suggested modifications for Web Application Firewall devices, and partially altered client’s web programs.

To provide security at the next level, Anson Network focuses on taking forward its legacy of serving the security and safety needs of its clients by creating new technologies and building new scrubbing centers. “We will continue to work extensively to provide a safe digital environment for our clients through our network and services,” concludes Wu.
