Leveraging AWS for Simplified Application Hosting

The wave of digital transformation has no wonder set organisations world-over in a race to revamp their operations. Being such, when purpose-built systems and solutions for almost every business aspect is the present status quo, what better option to have than SAP powered solutions. Additionally, it is indubitable that today one cannot afford not to adopt the cloud. And, when cloud deployment is increasingly becoming synonymous with agility, scalability, and reliability, Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the best option to consider. Philippines-based technology company, AppCentric, strives to bridge the capabilities of SAP and the world’s largest cloud provider to help businesses harness the-best-of-both-worlds. “We are the leading SAP partner in the Philippines and one of the few SAP partners that have experience and expertise in AWS,” comments Alex Benavidez, CEO, AppCentric.

AppCentric has been imparting its expertise in AWS to organisations with varying degrees of cloud storage and computational needs. While some clients that are already reaping the benefits of cloud and are in need of an upgrade, a few others seek assistance while migrating to AWS from a legacy business environment. AppCentric helps clients by offering its knowledge and understanding of the ramifications and possibilities when legacy on-premise applications are migrated to the cloud.

To start with, AppCentric conducts comprehensive workshops to help clients analyse and understand the right AWS cloud service that could be the best fit for the applications they seek to migrate to the cloud.

We are the leading SAP partner in the Philippines and one of the few SAP partners that have experience and expertise in AWS

The firm then selects and designs the most appropriate cloud adoption strategy with a detailed roadmap to cloud adoption. AppCentric also helps companies in integrating their existing data centers with the AWS Virtual Private Cloud, apart from ensuring a complete shift to the Amazon cloud environment. For clients already leveraging AWS and intending to scale higher in terms of their cloud abilities, AppCentric provides assistance in the on-going administration of Amazon EC2 and S3 deployments. The firm also extends its professional experience across other AWS services such as VPC architecture design, IAM security management, and RDS database configuration.

AppCentric focuses on helping its clients gain significant return on investment on their SAP and AWS implementation efforts. Benavidez states that the pay-as-you-go model of the platform turns the investments made toward AWS adoption into operational expenditure, not capital expenditure and “are a step forward in the path to innovation.” “Some of our clients do not have a formal data center which can sometimes pose a challenge. The convenience offered by AWS eliminates the need to build one, which would have otherwise led to a rise in their expenditures.”

AppCentric has been assisting its clients in the implementation of SAP services and solutions, such as the SAP HANA. Apart from being a leading SAP partner, the firm has also helped businesses harness the power of IoT to build smart warehouses. To keep the wheel of innovation at AppCentric turning, Benavidez states, the company is exploring the Artificial Intelligence arena trying to leverage the technology into its solutions portfolio. “Our servers that support the AI will run on the AWS cloud, just the way our existing products and solutions such as the facial recognition software do. We just don’t sell AWS, we also use AWS as a company.”
