Blutech: Intelligent Energy Management:The Way to Carbon Emission Reduction

    ,Han Kuo, Co-Founder & Director & Deral Chen, Co-Founder & Director, BlutechHan Kuo, Co-Founder & Director & Deral Chen, Co-Founder & Director

In the face of a growing urgency to combat carbon emissions, factories are awakening to the significance of precise information on their carbon footprint and electricity usage. They are fervently seeking solutions to gather data, as conventional approaches using wired meters and sensors have proven unreliable and time-consuming, resulting in project setbacks.

Blutech's NeVerLoSs® LoRa wireless protocol is a game-changing solution for industrial applications that allows clients to analyze power consumption with exceptional efficiency. This protocol offers impressive capabilities like prioritized data transmission based on timing requests and a network that avoids collisions, ensuring uninterrupted data flow and reliable reception. This technology enables factories to revolutionize their data collection methods, leading to improved efficiency, better reporting, and informed decision-making.

“Our goal is to investigate the feasibility of substituting traditional wired standards with wireless technology, which presents notable benefits for the entire industry,” says Deral Chen, co-founder and director at Blutech.

To enhance its technology, Blutech has introduced a range of hardware devices, including the IoT gateway ‘Data Queen,’ the three-phase industrial meter ‘Meter End,’ and the IO controller with various interfaces ‘Data End.’ Together, these components form a robust data infrastructure that addresses approximately 80 percent of data transmission requirements for factories. This infrastructure plays a crucial role for clients in enabling applications like energy management, carbon footprint verification, and energy performance index calculations.

Using the data collected through Blutech's system, clients gain insights into their energy consumption, carbon emissions, and performance, empowering them to make informed decisions and establish improvement targets.

Its energy management solutions adhere to ISO standards, and it offers intelligent flow and water resources management systems, EnPI compliance for reporting systems in Taiwan, carbon emission verification services, and error-free digital reporting to governments.

Blutech’s solution architecture involves collecting data from meters using the Meter End and transmitting it via NeVerLoSs® LoRa Wireless to the gateway and beacon. The data is then connected to its IoT server and application site using either a link or 4G connection. Clients can install Blutech’s IoT management solutions on their servers, and it offers open APIs, such as MQTT, allowing them to subscribe to its data and integrate it into their own systems. This open architecture promotes flexibility and compatibility with clients’ existing software and systems.

A remarkable demonstration of Blutech's prowess unfolded when it successfully collaborated with Far Eastern textile factory. The factory integrated approximately 500 digital meters from Blutech and deployed four gateways to ensure comprehensive transmission coverage throughout its facility. This innovative solution has delivered substantial benefits for the factory, including annual energy savings of one to two million units and a significant reduction in carbon emissions.

Blutech addresses the issue of high deployment costs in the Asian market by offering partial and small-scale installations, giving clients the flexibility to choose the installation scale they desire. Its wireless solutions are highly scalable, accommodating installations ranging from a single meter or sensor to hundreds. Once the gateway is installed, clients can easily add end devices to establish an IoT network and immediately access valuable factory data.

Our goal is to investigate the feasibility of substituting traditional wired standards with wireless technology, which presents notable benefits for the entire industry

Data security is a top priority for Blutech, and it has partnered with Cisco to develop comprehensive security and computing solutions. Collaborations with leading sensor and meter companies like ABB ensure accurate data for clients.

Adopting its exclusive proprietary wireless technology, NeVerLoSs® LoRa, and the innovative Wireless Instrumentation Transmission System (WSDMS), Blutech is dedicated to supporting clients in industrial instrumentation monitoring, power consumption analysis, and delivering comprehensive Industrial IoT solutions. Currently, Blutech has successfully deployed WSDMS in more than 30 major factories across industries in Taiwan, and this footprint continues to expand.

Blutech is a standout player in energy management, offering cutting-edge software and cost-effective solutions. Setting the company apart is its proactive approach toward incorporating renewable energy and storage solutions. Leveraging its proficiency in energy data analysis, backup power alternatives, and power source capabilities, Blutech is poised to venture into Taiwan's power trading market. Helping clients devise tailored trading strategies that align with their individual requirements and objectives, Blutech aims to facilitate their journey toward effective power trading.
