    ClickLearn: Record, Produce and Publish

ClickLearn provides a robust e-learning authoring solution for any business systems, delivering lower cost of support and improved quality of user adoption. The company understands that user adoption is a discipline, traditionally executed at the beginning of an implementation cycle, which means employees present during an implementation cycle of enterprise software receive much better training than those joining post-implementation. To this end, the company’s namesake solution, ClickLearn, helps clients in recording complicated work processes in popular business software and produce multi-language learning materials. “We deliver on the simple proposition, that all employees, new and old, should be properly trained on the solutions that are critical to run a business and that implementing a training platform should require minimal investment,” states Joachim Schiermacher, CEO of ClickLearn.

Essentially, ClickLearn allows the users to record their work instructions by merely going through that process in the live system, with recorder enabled. After recording, the solution automatically produces written documentation (HTML, Word, and PDF) with perfect instructions and cropped images, training videos that are automatically narrated, hands-on-labs, allowing the user to safely train a specific process without touching the live system and test-simulations that adequately test the user’s knowledge of a particular process. In case, the system receives a new update, ClickLearn automatically updates all work instructions to match the latest version of the software. Furthermore, it delivers a full virtual assistant that the user can call up inside the live system. This assistant will guide the user through the process within the live system, so as the user learns the process, they are performing the task as well. This is particularly useful for those infrequently performed processes that are hard to teach users.

“Remember that all the produced material comes from a single recording session done by a super-user within the system,” remarks Schiermacher. Once the content has been produced, the user can automatically play that content back on a regionalized system and get the same interesting e-learning material for other languages, with no knowledge of the underlying regionalization.

We deliver on the simple proposition, that all employees, new and old, should be properly trained on the solutions that are critical to run a business

Now the entire learning platform is completely customized to the corporate identity of the clients, and it can be effectively served in any browser, any device, 24/7 available for the corporate users to train in. “Lately, we have observed that our clients are increasingly using ClickLearn to support training in a high employee turn-over environment. This is due to the blue-collar workers are increasingly put in front of new technology. So, servicing these clients is increasingly important to us,” points out Schiermacher.

Traditionally, the company catered to the clients either implementing Dynamics/365 technology or doing significant upgrades. “We normally refer to these events as ‘trigger events’ for getting acquainted with our technology,” says Schiermacher. After the initial implementation, ClickLearn sees that its technology ripples throughout the organization and becomes the de facto standard for training employees on all new technology brought in to the business. The company works closely within the Microsoft partnership model to deliver early available version support for the entire Dynamics platform. ClickLearn customized help-system is an example of an in-depth integration feature within the Dynamics/365 platform. “With this particular feature, we can integrate the e-learning content that our clients have recorded seamlessly into the existing F1- style help system of the platform,” says Schiermacher.

Furthermore, clients can easily create, extend, maintain and deploy field-, form- and table level help. The company even creates automatic cross-references to e-learning content and virtual assistant. Apart from Microsoft Dynamics D365; NAV/BC, CRM/CE & AX/ FO, ClickLearn also works with SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Office & Sharepoint, Windows Applications and Web Applications in Chrome.

Explaining how ClickLearn manages to be ahead of the competition, Schiermacher says that they make sure that the clients have fixed cost access to the company’s solution and services. The company offers full training, retraining, consultancy, integration and implementation services, and access to our cloud for hosting and upgrades free of charge for all our clients holding a valid maintenance agreement. “Following each of our clients through their journey with our software is the constant source of innovation for us, and it allows us to make sure that what we do for our clients, we do extremely well,” states Schiermacher.

ClickLearn has a track record of success, and the company is continuously improving its base capabilities and cloud services. On that note, this year the company is launching an LMS proposition, that will enable customers to deliver better, gamified learning experiences, with the same ease as recording and publishing is done today. “We will continue to serve mid to enterprise markets with our propositions and expand our sales offices in the USA with a fully operational business unit, delivering services, support and training directly from the States. Besides, we will be doubling the number of customers we are serving across the world,” concludes Schiermacher.

Implementation training solved by IFS and ClickLearn

IFS has announced a deeper integration between IFS Applications 9 and ClickLearn. The two companies have worked together to improve the integration for both IFS Applications and IFS Field Service Management and the ClickLearn software.

ClickLearn for IFS provides real time assistants and instructions in a variety of formats. These can then be used to enhance training during both implemen... ntation and onboarding of new employees.

    IFS Education extended

The partnership with ClickLearn extends back to 2015 and the ClickLearn solution works with IFS Applications 7.5. 8 and 9. There are now 50 joint customers. What is unclear is whether this latest announcement sees ClickLearn become part of IFS software or whether there are additional costs involved. ClickLearn has no indicative pricing on its website. However, it does allow companies to use a trial license for a period.

David Eager, Vice President of Global Alliances at IFS commented: “Offering our customers to use this integrated training and e-learning platform extends the value and ROI they realize from IFS solutions. The real-time assistants and instructions developed by our Platinum Partner, ClickLearn, have proved highly successful in increasing implementation efficiencies”

The new integration is in addition to the training and certifications offered by the IFS Academy. The courses are delivered for consultants, developers and technicians. The certification programs are in two levels, associate and specialist.

    What is ClickLearn?

ClickLearn is a complete e-learning authoring tool for IFS. It enables users to create work instructions for IFS. The trainer is able to record a process within IFS Applications which is recorded by ClickLearn. ClickLearn then automatically creates a range of materials to help students learn the process. These materials include:

    • Written instructions
    • Video walk through, these include automated voice overs in 40 languages
    • Training simulators, enabling staff to practice the work in a safe environment without affecting live data
    • Virtual assistance, these operate in the live environment providing instructions to users about which task they need to perform next.
    • An e-learning portal that provides a training hub for all content

ClickLearn also provides a similar solution for Microsoft Dynamics. It supports Dynamics NAV, Dynamics CRM and Dynamics AX. While the Dynamics solution also has a service provider edition, there does not appear to be an equivalent for IFS partners. It is an omission that ClickLearn might look to redress in Atlanta at the IFS World conference, at which they are a platinum sponsor. It also has support for SAP, SAP Web portal and Oracle Java clients.

George Hardy, Vice President, Enterprise Sales at ClickLearn commented: “The partnership between IFS and ClickLearn is very important for our market position, and underlines that ClickLearn is the training and e-learning solution for IFS Applications and IFS Field Service Management. The agreement is a clear statement of ClickLearn’s continuous support for IFS’s suite of products, and dedication to the IFS Partner Network”.

    What does this mean

E-learning tools can help accelerate user adoption of new systems in companies. The ClickLearn solution provides trainers with a portfolio of tools. These help reduce the costs and time of implementation and onboarding.

For IFS bringing in a partner to help its customers better understand and improve the use of their systems is sensible. There is more that they could do though. IFS could provide standard training using ClickLearn for both customers and as sales demonstrations. There is also the question on the partner license. This would be beneficial for all parties concerned.
