Employees encounter many challenges with their expense reporting while they travel for work. Involving copious paperwork, manual calculation, and eligibility checks, they spend a lot of time on the procedure before they get back what they spent. The time-consuming process is demotivating for employees and weakens their productivity.

ComBTAS’ automated expense management solutions save the day. It helps businesses control, approve, and pay employee expenses in an orderly and convenient way. Through its offering, ComBTAS is driven to make businesses lean, efficient, and economical.

Companies in the Philippines are increasingly turning to cExpense for not just automating their expense management processes, but also analyzing different factors to make data-driven expense decisions

“Our flagship solution, Travel Analysis System (TAS), is gaining traction to help companies autonomously manage employee travel and expense. During the pandemic, travels halted but employees still needed a solution to manage their corporate expenses. So, we extracted the expense module of the system and made it a standalone solution, called cExpense, an advanced digital system that enforces corporate policies, to manage money and reduce business cost,” states

Abby Platero, CEO of ComBTAS Philippines.

Companies in the Philippines are increasingly turning to cExpense for not just automating their expense management processes, but also analyzing different factors to make data-driven expense decisions. ComBTAS is being used by small to medium-sized companies to optimize spending because they don’t have the allocated funds like most large companies. And for large companies, they use the system to modify their business expense process once in a while, thus, by having this smart solution, they can efficiently do that. Using cExpense could also greatly safeguard company resources against human error, fraud, and discrepancies. It instills discipline in its employees.

As employees were working from homes— from different cities and even countries, the operational expenses incurred vastly varied from one another. Paper-based documentations made its approval process behemoth. ComBTAS could effectively help companies ease that pressure as its cExpense is a paperless, automated technology.

Now that travel has resumed, the customizable TAS solution comes in handy for managing the overall budget of a domestic or international trips from one place to another. The app also has online booking tool integrations for flights and hotels, so users don’t have to leave the app or compare prices on different portals. Once booked, employees can scan the receipt of their purchases with a few clicks and send it to the expense management system. The system’s optical character recognition (OCR) tool helps recognize purchases, eliminating duplicate bills, fraud, or discrepancies.

With the solutions’ robust approval, all digitally verified receipts go to the person authorized to accept or reject the payments at any given period. ComBTAS’ solutions are ERP-agnostic. Approvers can easily check on the budget status prior to any expense approval. On approval, it is directly interfaced to any ERP, making the reimbursement process a breeze.

ComBTAS’ system also recognizes employees who haven’t liquidated their cash advances according to company policies. The system also triggers an alert to the supervisors if the employee wants another cash advance so that they can do the necessary. The assigned approvers within the process flow are also being alerted on pending tasks or any exceptional activities.

ComBTAS used these features to help a conglomerate in the Philippines, whose employees had to put in many hours of labor to fill in expense reports, burdening the department and leading to many mistakes. ComBTAS’ paperless and automated system enabled them to analyze, assess, and evaluate the budget for every work expense without breaking a sweat. And lastly, the management uses Analysis Reports to track their budget and expense in different categories or fields.

ComBTAS is poised to redefine business travel expense management with clients including some of the largest governmental companies and organizations in the world. With these services, ComBTAS is revolutionizing the travel management technology for global and local business.
