DiTCL: Unified ERP integrating the Insurance sector

Referring to a financial crisis in Bangladesh, Rashed Aman, CEO, Dragon Information Te -chnology and communication (DiTCL) explains a scenario where insurance supervisors tapped all the commission from the insurance policies without distributing among the agents. Policy premium frauds were committed with doctored deposit slips produced to banks by the insurance agents. Payments issued multiple times, forcing clients to pay the premium more than once as policies were not updated. The insurance companies were unaware of the losses incurred until the day of the audit. DiTCL stepped in to provide a real time overview of the transactions made by incorporating push-messaging services for every action performed in accordance to the insurance companies. Referring to this, Sonali Life Insurance, one of the clients of DiTCL, said that DiTCL has provided them the highest level of service and met the deadlines as per requirement. Sonali Life Insurance emphasizes that digitization in-creased their business and customer satisfaction more than expected.

“Our intention is not to make companies go according to the software but enable the software to work according to the companies,” says Rashed. Comprising of 24 comprehensive modules catering to insurance solutions, DiTCL was the first to set the benchmark for integrated ERP in Bangladesh, a market completely orthodox towards real time ERP solutions. By incorporating SMS integration to generate real time notification, Dragon IT develops solutions for insurance operations such as Policy services, accounts, pay roll and attendance, chat rooms and much more. Incorporation of ERP is bundled with unified software that on its own manages the operations of automated services such as scheduling auto-renewals, customer notifications, and payment receipt. The customization of ERP solutions extent to desktops and mobile applications as well, leveraging the capabilities of instant delivery of policy information to the customers.

Our intention is not to make companies work according to the software but enable the software to go according to the companies

DITCL offers the privilege irrespective of B2B or B2C markets, providing enhanced customizability to the clients implementing these solutions.

DiTCL utilizes HTML or CSS3, Java, and SQL platforms to enable customer login along with real time validation of customer privileges such as policy renewal, payment portals, and policy alteration services. With the incorporation of SMS push/pull services, the client website updates in real time, enhancing the customer experience with timely notifications. SMS services further tackle the challenge of possible payment frauds and accurately calculate the commission earned by the agents with total transparency between the insurance provider and the agent. “We almost saved 30 dollars for every 100 dollars for the insurance companies,” claimed Rashed, addressing the discrepancies caused by payment frauds and commission earnings. The company also incorporated agent verification through SMS by providing them unique IDs that check out with the insurance company’s database upon receiving agent codes from the customers.

According to Rashed, DiTCL is among the first companies to adopt cloud services for the deployment of insurance services in Bangladesh and hopes to continue in delivering client based ERP solutions. The company has revolutionized the Bangladesh market by taking newer strides in technology that were unseen in the recent years by SQL/HTML based ERP solutions for data exchange among the clients and customers alike. Acknowledged and approved by The Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority of Bangladesh for their exemplary work in the implementation of ERP solutions, the DiTCL hopes to venture newer areas such as E-commerce and Garment sectors in the near future.
