The hospitality and tourism industry continues to grapple with significant recruitment and retention challenges, mainly stemming from COVID with intense competition for top talent. Staff shortages are but one of the many hurdles that are disrupting the business continuity and growth of the sector.

GDHBSolutions led by CEO Gabrielle Daniels (Gabby), provides support to businesses across the sector with a strategic and adaptable approach, offering services to increase overall business profitability and performance as it relates to revenue optimization, operational efficiencies & process improvement.

With over 20 years in the industry, Gabby’s extensive experience across all aspects of business from small business to major events enables her to approach every engagement with a three-pronged mission. The objectives comprise assessing and optimizing current processes, instigating a culture of change and continuous improvement, establishing mechanisms for validating data, and maintaining organizational accountability and delivery.

She follows a personalized approach when onboarding clients, either meeting them in person or engaging in virtual discussions to understand their needs and clear business objectives. Her independent assessment determines the firm’s suitability ensures the firm can add value.

“I play crucial role by working directly with the business/client from the outset, performing a thorough systematic assessment, sharing observations with key stakeholders, including the CEO, and providing strategic and actionable recommendations for enhanced productivity and operations. Following this, I actively support the implementation of said suggestions at the most critical time,” says Gabby.

Once clients receive Gabby's insights, they can decide whether to proceed with the recommended actions. If they do, the next phase involves weekly catch-up calls, status updates, and clear action plans to clarify key responsibilities and expected outcomes for all involved. Throughout the ongoing collaboration, she actively engages clients to ensure they are achieving the desired results and are satisfied with them.

She also provides specialized training to assist clients in effectively implementing strategies utilizing existing business talent. Above all, Gabby equips clients with a holistic perspective helping them cultivate highly competent teams to deliver the required business outcomes.

A noteworthy case exemplifying the firm’s impact is its registered consultant with the Australian Government to support the 2032 Brisbane Olympics. Approached in July 2022, Gabby was asked to guarantee 41,000 rooms in order to deliver the 2032 Games Bid for Brisbane. Going beyond the initial objective, the consultant received commitments for 48,000 rooms across Queensland, including in the southeast, Townsville, Toowoomba, and Cairns, within six months. This success showcases Gabrielle Daniels’ competence and the strength of her extensive relationships within the industry.

I play crucial role by working directly with the business/client from the outset performing a thorough systematic assessment, sharing observations with key stakeholders, and providing strategic and actionable recommendations for enhanced productivity and operations.

Successes like this have helped Gabrielle Daniels recognition as a Tourism Star at the Gold Coast Bulletin Awards. Other accolades include her delivery of the first in-house accommodation model for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games. Gabby is well recongnised as an outstanding individual that has made a significant impact in the realm of tourism, earning her a nomination as a Tourism Star for this year's Gold Coast Women of the Year Awards.

The awards event serves as a platform to celebrate and honor inspirational, influential, and innovative women within the Gold Coast community, and as a nominee for this prestigious award, Gabby has demonstrated exceptional leadership and innovation within her field. Her relentless dedication is evident in her efforts to enhance the visitor experience on the Gold Coast, leaving a lasting impression on both the local community and the wider tourism industry.

As she looks ahead, Gabby is poised to build on her achievements by continuing to support businesses and enhance operational efficiency, alongside specialized training and impactful knowledge transfer opportunities. With a key objective to empower teams and businesses with the necessary skills and information to succeed.
