Preparing Organizations for the 'Crypto-Commerce' Future

One of the earliest attempts to create a cryptocurrency predates Bitcoin by about 20 years. However, it was only with blockchain’s first implementation—as the technology underpinning ‘Bitcoins’— that cryptocurrency started making waves across the financial market. Soon, cryptocurrencies started playing a pivotal role in making financial transactions more fluid, quick, and convenient. In the thick of this massive cryptocurrency phenomenon, Tony Tam, an expert management consultant, and YC Wong, an innovative software developer, saw an opportunity to leverage blockchain and cryptocurrencies to bring about radical transformation in both financial and commercial ecosystems. Backed by their years of experience in the financial domain, the duo established IJS Technologies in 2017. Since then, with a like-minded management team, the company has been driving success to realize its vision of preparing organizations for the age of ‘crypto-commerce.’

According to Tam, the Co-Founder and CEO of IJS Technologies, although forward-thinking companies consider leveraging the power of cryptocurrencies, blockchain technology still remains challenging and confusing for many organizations. “They often do not know where to start and are scared because of security concerns and breaches,” says Tam. This is where IJS wields its expertise by utilizing its leadership team’s decades of experience and reputation as established enterprise technology professionals. IJS serves as an ‘outsourced blockchain CTO’ to provide trusted insights to companies that require guidance and technical support to navigate through the blockchain landscape. “What makes us unique is our deep blockchain know-how without the bias or hype of teams that may be beholden to a specific technology stack,” states Tam. To that end, one of the key advisory offerings of IJS is called the blockchain architecture review package, “where we provide an assessment of a project’s solution architecture and support processes as it pertains to IT security and blockchain design,” explains Tam.

Alongside the services, IJS enables companies to unlock the potential of crypto-commerce with an Enterprise Digital wallet that enables them to manage crypto assets more securely and effectively by incorporating cryptographic key management and approval policy controls. Using the wallet, companies can begin accepting cryptocurrencies and enforce spending limits and approval policies that require multiple members to sign off before transactions are executed.

Basking in the value of IJS’ solutions and services, Tam shares a recent client success story. “One of our clients wanted to accept cryptocurrencies as payment, and so they needed a solution that could give them peace of mind but also the controls, such as segregation of duties and a multi-layered approval process,” he says. IJS offered its Enterprise Digital wallet and payment gateway solution to enable the client to accept cryptocurrencies. To make the transactions safer and more convenient, IJS also set up a multi-staged wallet account structure so that larger wallets require senior approvals, and smaller wallets can be used for general transactions with smaller transaction limits and more straightforward approval processes.

After the success of this project, the client expressed their bond of trust with IJS with further collaboration opportunities. In a recent blockchain project audit, the client needed guidance for securing on-chain tokens. Although they had a robust development team experienced in software development, they did not have much experience with blockchain technologies. “Our team reviewed their architecture covering everything from their interface designs to smart contracts—identifying potential risks and making architectural suggestions for improvements,” outlines Tam. Through this exercise, the client not only enhanced the security of their solution but also raised the bar of security awareness amongst all team members.

This illustrative success story is but one of the many instances where IJS’ innovativeness and wide-ranging industry expertise helped a client save the day. According to Tam, the dedication of IJS to aid a client in solving problems stems from the company’s knowledge-sharing attitude and people-centric mentality. “We operate with a flat team structure in an open office where idea sharing is maximized,” reveals Tam. Besides, the company also carries out “Demo Mondays” every week for teams to share their progress, ideas, and approaches with an intention to raise the quality of services delivered to clients.

Such proven capabilities have made IJS a real catalyst for change in the cryptocurrency market. The company’s journey to prepare organizations for the future of crypto-commerce will continue to reflect in its technological roadmap. On that front, the company is excited about the potential of multiparty computational technologies (MPC), “and, as a matter of fact, we are one of the founding members of the MPC Alliance,” says Tam. IJS is presently incorporating MPC technologies in its Enterprise Wallet to improve the flexibility and usability of digital wallets. With these powerful plans for the future, IJS is determined to empower businesses to move forward on the tracks of crypto transformation and unleash the power of crypto-commerce in Asia and North America.
