Infomina: Facilitating Enterprise Management with UC

Yee Chee Meng,MD, InfominaYee Chee Meng, MD
Communication is inevitable for every business to ensure efficiency in its operations. In its newest form, communication is facilitating business connectivity by consolidating varied communication features on a single platform. Popularly known as UC (Unified Communications)—this centralized communication solution is empowering enterprises with sound management in a cost-effective manner. “UC provides an interactive way of communication as well as functionality which traditional communication systems do not allow,” adds Yee Chee Meng, MD, Infomina—a Malaysia-based IT solution provider. The company, with the aim to ensure enhanced productivity and workforce collaboration among businesses, offers UC solutions designed to suit their needs and objectives.

Meng adds, “We don’t sell a specific product, instead we design and sell solutions to solve our customers’ problems.” The company follows this approach as it believes that selling a product alone or a solution from a single vendor only solves customers’ problems partially. Infomina’s communication solutions majorly include Voice and Video Communication Systems, LAN and WAN, and Telco and WAN Network. Infomina’s LAN solution not only consists of switching and routing but also LAN security such as NAC, IPS, WIPS, and perimeter firewall. Its WAN services, on the other hand, consist of leased line and Metro-E. The company offers these UC solutions through its channel partners owing to its strong belief in channel partnership. Infomina allies with leading technology vendors and works closely with them to understand the customers’ requirements, and further addresses them with the right solutions and services.

We don’t sell a specific product instead we design and sell solutions to solve our customers’ problems

Infomina is assisted by a team of IT experts whose vision is to empower enterprise management by integrating six inter-dependent pillars of solutions—Build, Manage, Accelerate, Secure, Support, and Mainframe Specialization. The team at Infomina stays abreast of the latest technologies, carries out R&D, and thereafter architects innovative solutions by integrating multiple technologies from different vendors, and offers them as a single solution to clients. Infomina also offers consultancy, implementation, and after sales support services to its customers for its products and solutions. The company consistently keeps an eye on the prevailing unified communications trends by conducting marketing research. This helps the team to ensure that it’s able to address the clients’ emerging UC requirements with its portfolio of products and solutions.

Infomina, since its genesis in 2007, has been assisting a large base of customers move away from traditional communication systems and implement UC systems. One of the instances that serve as a testimony to this is that of a Malaysian Government agency. The agency employs over 800 employees and has 15 branch offices nationwide. It is involved in conducting research and operates as a regulator for IT in Malaysia, which requires them to constantly attend meetings as well as make phone calls with the branch offices. Infomina provided UC support to the agency and helped them deal with high operating and maintenance cost for telephony system caused by unavailability of high-end communication features. Implementing the UC system helped the agency reduce their monthly maintenance and operating cost by half. Infomina has delivered similar benefits to various other clients, including the mobility features such as allowing them to use the VoIP application on their mobile devices anywhere as long as there is internet connectivity.

Over the years, Infomina operates with one belief—“Your Growth is Our Success”. Its vision is to help clients evolve their businesses by providing capable IT solutions. In future, the Infomina team plans to expand its business geographically; Infomina is all set to expand its operations in Thailand and Indonesia.
