Commencing a New Journey of Advanced Analytics

In the early 2000s, when data analytics was still a realm undiscovered in the Philippines, Sonny Halili, a visionary with prolific experience in this field, was all set to transform the overall analytics picture in the country. With the introduction of analytics in the Philippines, its adoption across several sectors—including telco, banking, government, retail, and gaming—increased dramatically, fuelling growth and advancements in these industries. After building the analytics profession and usage across the nation, Sonny Halili founded Intellection. He used it as a platform to further promote advancements in the analytics field. More importantly, he did so while fulfilling his long-time passion of mentoring young, underprivileged yet deserving Filipinos and making a difference in their lives. He made it his mission for them to shine not only in the Philippines but in other countries as well. He had the vision of making the Filipino brand of talent and service known to the entire world.

“We empower our people to use creative thinking in leveraging the power of analytics and in so doing, find meaning and deeper purpose in the work that they do. We believe in inspiring our people rather than motivating them,” mentions Sonny Halili, the CEO of Intellection Corporation.

Intellection offers a holistic range of services to assist organizations in making better and more informed decisions when solving business challenges. One of the prime offerings that Intellection brings to the fore is “Actionable Intelligence as a Service (AIaaS).” This is a complete offering that addresses the known business pain points in a particular industry. For instance, in the case of the financial sector, the company has in-store services for improving cross-sell and up-sell for credit cards. These services help credit card companies increase card usage by creating the most suitable offers for their customers.
Intellection deploys the required subject-matter expertise to build these AIaaS projects from their associates and tailors a solution with predefined and pre-configured data to streamline integration. This enables Intellection’s clients to begin their analytics journey at lower costs and a much shorter time.

Intellection is vendor and technology agnostic, which allows them to work with the clients’ existing technologies and platforms, both proprietary and open source, with careful consideration on future-proofing clients’ environments. The company invests in its people and technologies to align its services with the client’s needs to address the growing usage of cloud, open-source, and AI. This investment, in turn, helps the company and its services balance the needs of customers with the trends in the market.

Intellection’s offerings have helped immensely in the Philippine Government’s complex vaccination endeavors to protect a population of 110 million Filipinos. At the height of the pandemic, COVID cases soared to a critical level that threatened to overwhelm the healthcare infrastructure of the country. As such, it was imperative that vaccines be imported, distributed and administered to the populace. However, given the limited resources available, it was determined that the most efficient and economical way to make the vaccines accessible, was through informed decision-making with the use of data analytics. An extremely tight deadline was necessary at that point.

This is where Intellection came into the picture! The company assisted the Philippines’ Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) in completing the required analytics at 1/5th of the time allotted. This capability proved invaluable in making timely and informed decisions, which were crucial to saving lives and keeping the citizens safe. “Because of the overwhelming success of the project, it won an international award from Snowflake – The ‘Data for Good Award’,” mentions Rafael Halili, Data Science Director of Intellection.

Other than the strength of the solutions they offer, what puts Intellection above the rest is that it prioritizes solving customer’s challenges rather than topping competition or generating more revenue and profits. Instead of investing on anti-competition and revenue growth strategies, Intellection puts forth all its energy in the relentless pursuit of customer-approval strategies like quality delivery, board involvement in addressing customer concerns, quick turn-around, time-to-value and return on investment.

We Empower Our People To Use Creative Thinking In Leveraging The Power Of Analytics And In So Doing, Find Meaning And Deeper Purpose In The Work That They Do. We Believe In Inspiring Our People Rather Than Motivating Them

With a positive stance towards the future, Intellection aims to increase partnerships with firms, both locally and internationally, that can complement their existing technology stack and services. This will drive the expansion of services for their clientele and the market. Furthermore, it will provide opportunities that will fuel the growth not only of the company, but also, its workforce. Equipped with its holistic range of services, Intellection’s focus is to support the drive towards bigger adoption of analytics in the country, develop the Filipino data scientists of the future and eventually make the Philippines a global hub for data analytics.
