Lockin Company: Enhancing Mobile Application Security

From managing banking transactions to facilitating social interactions, mobile apps hold a vast amount of personal data, making their security a primary concern for every digital user. A single breach can lead to significant data compromises and quickly erode user trust.

Lockin Company has developed the Lockin App Protector (LIAPP), a cutting-edge mobile application security solution that offers 40 security features designed to protect every aspect of a mobile application, without compromising the app’s performance. This balance is essential in an environment where excessive security can hinder user experience, while insufficient security leaves apps vulnerable.

LIAPP is a runtime application self-protection (RASP) mobile application security solution. It provides comprehensive security features such as anti-tampering, root/jailbreak detection, anti-debugging, SSL pinning, bot detection and fake GPS detection. It caters to a wide range of clients with various plans, from affordable subscription models to enterprise contracts.

“When enterprise clients use LIAPP, they gain access to real-time reports that display current threats, app usage and attack types. Clients can instantly turn security features on or off based on observed threats. For example, if a particular feature is generating numerous threats, clients can immediately activate or deactivate it to respond swiftly to the situation,” says Myoung Kyu Choi, CEO.

In order to enhance mobile app security in various areas, Lockin Company offers LIAPP secure keypad (LIKEY) and LIAPP secure screen (LISS).
LIKEY is designed to secure the security keypad used in mobile applications. It encrypts all data input, such as PIN numbers and passwords, to protect against keyloggers and unauthorized data access. LISS, in contrast, prevents unauthorized screen capturing and recording, and notifies app users if remote control is detected. This is essential for protecting banking and FinTech apps from phishing attacks that can control the app through remote control without the user’s permission. It is also an effective security service for edu-tech apps that provide high-quality, paid educational content, such as video lectures.

Collectively, Lockin Company’s products—LIAPP, LIKEY and LISS—offer robust protection for mobile applications, ensuring that app services remain secure and user-friendly. LIAPP, as the flagship product, is promoted globally, offering tailored security plans to meet the diverse needs of clients, from basic protection to advanced enterprise-level security.

In South Korea, a large cryptocurrency exchange mobile application successfully integrated LIAPP during the initial stage of its application distribution. Since then, they have experienced no hacking issues, which is a significant achievement given the high value and frequent targeting of cryptocurrency platforms.

When enterprise clients use LIAPP, they gain access to real-time reports that display current threats, app usage and attack types. Clients can instantly turn security features on or off based on observed threats.

Another example comes from a major client in the hospitality industry. This client faced new vulnerabilities and hacking patterns that required prompt and effective responses. Lockin Company’s security experts and developers quickly identified these vulnerabilities and provided updated security modules to address them. As a result, the application continued to operate smoothly, without any interruptions or downtime, ensuring seamless service delivery.

Choi a developer himself, prioritizes a developer-friendly approach to security. The team, consisting of over half of developers, meets daily to discuss how to provide robust security tailored specifically for mobile applications.

Taking a proactive approach, Lockin Company consistently researches and develops solutions to address new security measures and restrictions. This strategy ensures that its security solutions always stay compatible with the latest devices, operating systems and regulations. By adopting a developer-friendly approach, LIAPP evolves in tandem with technological advancements, offering clients cutting-edge protection.

This promise to innovation has earned it the Technology Innovation Award at the 10th Korea Leading Companies Awards ceremony. With LIAPP protecting more than 2,000 apps, Lockin Company ensures that its clients always receive the most current and effective security solutions.
