My Occ Health Record: A Centralized Platform for Managing Occupational Health Data

Be it for regulatory compliance or a genuine commitment to their workforce, companies around the world engage in occupational health practices, programs and policies, and the massive challenge of managing the data that arises from them. This is where the need for centralizing and standardizing occupational health data is of cardinal importance. Unfortunately, most companies collect, store, and share the data in a fragmented manner. There is a concerning lack of a centralized structure to orchestrate the process. To this end, My Occ Health Record brings to the table a unique cloud-based platform that enables organizations to seamlessly collect, share, track and securely store occupational health data. “We’re digitizing the process in a centralized platform, with an added layer of workflow automation,” says Brian Borowsky, Head of My Occ Health Record.

Drawing insights from over twenty years in occupational health services, the design of My Occ Health Record’s platform entails three distinctive views to the system, catering to the needs of organizations, employees and healthcare providers. Firstly, employers can initiate and manage the entire data collection and retrieval process. Since they can plug-in all their preferred third-party health service providers and create a virtual and private occupational health network, they can allocate occupational health interventions to their chosen providers. Employers can also analyze data and find new opportunities to improve the employees’ health and well-being. Secondly, employees can track what health data their organization collects, shares and stores. Finally, health providers use the platform to capture health data digital-first, and push employees’ clinical results directly into the platform, visible to all three windows.
The My Occ Health Record platform gives employers the much-needed bird’s eye view around occupational health data.

Another key differentiator of My Health Record is its ability to capture every single health data point, while the majority of solutions in the market merely convey whether an employee pass or fails in health assessments. Critically, all health data within the platform is securely encrypted, and the platform has an ISO27001 certification.

In addition to data capture, storage and analysis, My Occ Health Record also brings the significant benefit of automation to an area that is traditionally manually-drive. The platform can remind when employees near a required periodic health check, fire off notifications when they miss appointments and send alerts if they are above a danger threshold in specific tests. An automated workflow can be created to describe the entire workplace health lifecycle, including pre-employment health checks, regular health surveillance, and wellness activities. Such features mitigate occupational health hazards, keep employees in good health, and ultimately reduce costly claims.

“Our solution brings customers high levels of automation of the processes surrounding these occupational health tasks, which enables them to be better at digitizing and securing content at the point of capture. The solution can operationalize a wide range of processes around health data,” says Borowsky.

With an industry-first solution of its kind, My Occ Health Record caters to a wide range of clients across various industry verticals such as utilities, logistics, and mining. Borowsky reminisces the instance of a client who needed help in their employees’ pre-placement health assessment and screenings. The client’s internal team had to manage an end-to-end appointment tracking from initiating employee’s health screening to finally consolidating the results. They previously used Outlook, and Excel and manually updated their internal process, which entailed around 80 touchpoints. With My Occ Health Record’s centralized platform, they brought the number of touchpoints down to a dozen, reeling in significant cost-cutting in the process.

We render occupational health data through a centralized platform that can automate related workflows

My Occ Health Record is synonymous with numerous such success stories. The firm also has a highly dedicated internal team that works closely with clients to understand their needs and design solutions accordingly. Looking forward, the company hopes that the My Occ Health Record platform will bring industry-wide standardization. They also have plans to expand its outreach beyond Australia and New Zealand. In addition, My Occ Health Record envisions integrating the platform with insurers as well. “There is a natural relationship between our technology, claims management and insurers. I think we’ll see an integration of these technologies over the coming years,” concludes Borowsky. The roadmap looks bright and strategic for My Occ Health Record.
