While time-machines are not yet invented, one can visit Singapore and experience what world will look three to four decades from now

Fremont, CA: Famously known as Asia's technology Capital, Singapore, always remains ahead in the race of technological developments. The city's sci-fi has made the established claim wrong that the guiding light of technology is the U.S., Japan, or China. Actually, it is Singapore that is rapidly moving towards becoming a Smart Nation. Let's take a sneak peek into what makes Singapore a Smart City:

    Smart Living in Singapore

The HDB Smart-Enabled Home Initiative has made it possible for every Singaporean to make their home smart by installing smart devices and applications in the smart-enabled home. Utility management not only helps with turning the lights off and on automatically but also lowers the utility bills. The elderly monitoring system can monitor the well-being of elderly people when they are alone at home.

    Self Driving Cars

The idea of self-driven cars has been fascinating in the minds of sci-fi lovers since long, but Singapore is the first country to turn this fascination into reality by introducing the world's first drive

rless taxi system. Adding a feature to it, there are plans to introduce such driverless cars that can be booked using smartphones. Singapore government is planning to introduce driverless buses by 2022. It sounds amazing, right!

    Cashless Payments

Who wants to carry cash in this digital era when cashless payment systems are available everywhere? There are number of such payment interfaces through which payments can be made digitally in retail outlets, restaurants, and even taxes. Though this has been in use among most of the countries, the adoption rate is highest in Singapore and taking it a step closer to become a cashless nation.

    Robotic Police

Though the crime rates in Singapore are already lowest in the world, the implementation of technologies into the performance of police creates even more quandary for criminals. Singapore Police Force started using unique drones, known as Quadcopters that can reach height of 60 meters, to carry out aerial searches from last year. Powerful sirens and searchlights, which are ten times more powerful than car headlights, are used by the police. Nowadays, bots, which are completely autonomous and have pre-defined navigation paths, carry out patrolling in the ground during special public events. Camera equipped bots open more possibilities for remote surveillance.

While time-machines are not yet invented, one can visit Singapore and experience what the world will look three to four decades from now. That means Singapore is moving at least three decades in advance in terms of technological advancements and inspiring the world to reform.
