    The return rate is a major drawback of customer satisfaction and experience. Businesses face a lot of loss because of returns and are striving to reduce it to minimal but they have to maintain high customer satisfaction rate which creates chaos. The technological approach seems to be a solution to this.

    AI –Powered Tools

    Artificial intelligence (AI) technology is capable to keep the guesswork out from online shopping and many E-commerce websites have already incorporated this tool in their portals. AI enabled tools studies the search of customers and based on the history they suggest them the products of their choice. This approach results in lesser returns rates and better customer experience. On the other hand, a customer also finds these tools useful as it saves their time and efforts to search through large inventory. The AI enabled tools provide personalized customer experience which makes it convenient for buyers to navigate through the website.

    Utilizing Data to Diminish Returns

    Returns are not the only result of fit and sizing issues also at times its product quality, durability, comfort and other factors that drive returns. Companies and retailers must use data analytics tools to understand what is leading to higher returns and upgrade their product accordingly to customer demands. Also, they must advertise the right and exact product features to appeal to the right audience instead of larger audience resulting in returns.

    Online platforms have a drawback of experience; customers cannot experience a product or get an insight of it until it reaches to them, which later on might not meet the expectations and result in returns. But things are changing with time, and technology like augmented reality is changing customer experience as this gives an insight on how the product would influence customer’s choice. Online platforms stride to incorporate this technology into their portals especially for wearable product range which faces the highest return in online business. Such tools have enhanced the customer experience a lot and many buyers have turned towards augmented reality online portals.
