    AI-enabled surveillance systems are helping to keep a close eye on the construction site for added security. Because there is so much expensive equipment and machinery on the site, it can be a potential hotbed for theft.

    Fremont, CA: People have been building shelters and structures for millennia, making construction one of the oldest professions. However, the industry has evolved significantly in terms of how structures are designed, planned, and built. Technology has been leveraged in the construction industry for decades to make jobs more efficient and construction projects and structures safer.

    In recent years, construction firms have increasingly begun to use artificial intelligence (AI) in various ways to make construction more efficient and innovative. AI in the construction industry is already proving its worth, from optimizing work schedules to improving workplace safety to keeping a secure eye on construction facilities.

    Machine learning is good at detecting patterns and outliers in data. AI has been shown to help better manage schedules by using pattern recognition and historical data, as well as connections to scheduling systems and other associated information. Organizations that utilize machine learning can detect and address potential issues faster than humans. When it comes to scheduling, advanced AI can help to avoid costly delays on the job site or among suppliers, vendors, and others involved in the process.

    Modern machines and equipment are increasingly incorporating various sensors to aid in the overall function and operation of complicated and expensive machinery. These sensors can monitor a wide range of construction-related conditions, including temperature, engine condition, and material application. These various sensor tools are being used in conjunction with AI to intelligently monitor construction sites. These tools can analyze data in real-time and predict problems, delays, or malfunctions with a high degree of certainty. This type of proactive maintenance can help to avoid costly delays and downtime.

    Construction sites are not without danger. The site contains a number of potential hazards, ranging from dangerous structures to moving equipment that could endanger humans. AI is also assisting in the improvement of overall job site safety. Construction sites are increasingly being outfitted with cameras, IoT devices, and sensors that monitor various aspects of construction operations. AI-enabled systems can monitor what is going on around them 24 hours a day, seven days a week, without being distracted. AI systems are capable of detecting unsafe behavior and alerting the construction team to potential hazards using facial recognition and object recognition technology. This not only reduces liability but can also save lives and increase efficiency.

    AI-enabled surveillance systems are also helping to keep a close eye on the construction site for added security. Because there is so much expensive equipment and machinery on the site, it can be a potential hotbed for theft. AI is being used on construction sites to automatically monitor security footage for any suspicious activity. This software can not only perform traditional analytics such as alerting for movement, but it can also watch for specific actions or images that enter the frame. The AI can keep an eye on tools, equipment, and supplies and send out alerts if anyone tries to steal something from the site.
