TAIPEI, TAIWAN: Apacer, a provider of digital storage solutions, launches Very Low Profile (VLP) DDR4 mini Error Correcting Code (ECC) UDIMM to increase the storage space in the networking, and telecom industries. The VLP mini saves over 60% data space when compared with the standard DDR4 ECC. The VLP mini comes with improved heat dissipation for products making them appropriate for small size computers.
The VLP mini brings in ECC function to detect the single-bit error, which helps to nullify the memory error. The VLP DDR4 mini operatesat ultra-low voltage and is more efficient than the previous generation DDR3 available. Its built-in thermal sensor increases the life-cycle of the product. The VLP DDR4 mini generates a clock speed of DDR4 2400 and 2133, with storage capability of 4-16 GB. The VLP memory module is boosted by 30% more energy compared to previous- generation DDR3.
The VLP modules featuring small form factor and thermal sensor mainly finds commercial applications in industrial embedded, server system and cloud enterprises. The rapid expansion of cloud computing has resulted in high demand of it in the networking and telecom field. The enterprises are more eager to use cloud as their storage equipment. The networking companies are building their own cloud platforms to increase their data base.
Specifications:
The VLP DDR4 module operates at a frequency of 2400MHz and 1.2 Voltage (V). The Pin count of the module is 288 and has 0.738 and 80 mm height and length respectively. The capacity of the storage device can be increased up to 16 GB.
