RESTON, VA: Appian, a provider of enterprise platform for digital transformation and Business Process Management (BPM) solutions, integrates its platform with Microsoft enterprise productivity tools and announces the launch of its app. The company aims to create more intelligent and efficient productivity solutions with the scalability and flexibility of Microsoft Azure.
The app is a Microsoft Outlook mailbox add-in that supports Office 365 Online and Outlook 2013. The app accelerates workplace productivity by embedding Appian’s process management capabilities directly into the Microsoft Outlook. With this app, any Appian task can be completed within the Outlook environment. Appian enables its users to access and interact with critical components of the Appian platform without leaving their Microsoft desktop work environment.
With the aim of making the best possible use of the powerful productivity capabilities of Microsoft technologies and the governance, control, and process intelligence of Appian, the engineers are working to create more apps. The plan is to further integrate the Appian Platform with key Microsoft technologies and focus areas and thus the Appian engineers are exploring possible combinations of BPM with technologies such as artificial intelligence, wearable technology, mobile, and the Internet of Things. The engineers are also working to make it support Windows, Outlook 2016 and Mac.
“Microsoft and Appian engineers worked together to embed apps built with the Appian Platform into the Outlook interface,” says Michael Beckley, Co-Founder, and CTO of Appian. “We are proud to be able to offer our enterprise clients an easy and powerful new way to connect people to process for their digital transformation initiatives. This is just the first of many planned new and exciting capabilities we are bringing to market.”
