HONGKONG: Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) signs a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA) to carry out R&D projects of financial technologies (FinTech). The collaboration focuses on the implementation of electronic transaction development in Thailand.
The experts from both ASTRI and EDTA will work for the development FinTech projects such as cyber security, and blockchain technology. The collaboration aims to conduct training programmes to foster the cyber security professionals by sharingcyber security intelligence through SecShare.
SecShare, a security system developed by ASTRI, is deployed in banking and financial institutions for sharing critical information and protection against malicious threats.
"While Hong Kong has been enhancing financial infrastructure to consolidate its status as an international financial centre, Thailand, one of the countries along the Belt and Road, has seen robust growth in e-commerce in recent years. We're very glad to have this opportunity to exchange ASTRI's technological expertise with ETDA, and there're a lot of areas, such as e-payment, where we can learn from each other. I'm confident the collaboration will benefit both Hong Kong and Thailand," says Dr. Frank Tong, Chief Executive Officer of ASTRI.
