Azure Stream Analytics Integrates with Power BI; Converts IoT Data into Real-time Insights

    By apacciooutlook | Monday, December 03, 2018

FREMONT, CA: Microsoft announces the integration of its Azure Stream Analytics and Power BI services to provide users- real-time insights of streaming data. Data is streamed from IoT devices, sensors, infrastructure, and business applications can be converted into interactive real-time dashboards that update in real time with this integration between Azure Stream Analytics and Power BI.

Azure Stream Analytics as a service enables organizations to perform real-time analytics on data from IoT devices using a simple SQL like language. Azure Stream Analytics is capable of handling millions of events and when used in conjunction with its two other cloud-based IoT services- Azure Event Hubs and IoT Hubs, it can enable customers to aggregate and filter streaming data for further analysis.

By integrating Power BI, Microsoft's business intelligence and analytics product, and Microsoft’s Azure Stream Analytics, it is now possible to create interactive, live dashboards that offer users an up-to-the-minute overview of their IoT device deployments.

“Stream Analytics provides a number of input connectors, such as Azure Event Hubs and Azure IoT Hubs, which allow you to easily ingest data at scale,” says Ryan CrawCour, a Program Manager at Microsoft Azure Stream Analytics. “With today’s announcement, we are adding another output connector, the Power BI connector, which allows you to stream data directly to a live dashboard. This will dramatically reduce the latency and time to act on your most important business metrics. We have been working with hundreds of customers in public preview to visualize data from sensors, business applications, social media, user logs etc. This integration is now available to all customers,” he added.
