Benefits of AI in Human Resources

By Apac CIO Outlook | Friday, December 27, 2019

There is no doubt that AI will replace some human jobs. However, it still has a wide range of applications in the industry where it has the potential to improve productivity and automate the works towards a more productive workflow.

Fremont, CA: Though artificial intelligence (AI) has changed the landscape of the IT world and has eased the works which once were thought to be daunting, and there are still some areas where AI is not whole-heartedly welcomed these days. This is because of the rumors that we are heading towards a doom of the human race where intelligent machines will take over the humans.

There is no doubt that AI will replace some human jobs. However, it still has a wide range of applications in the industry where it has the potential to improve productivity and automate the works towards a more productive workflow. The working and advantages of AI is well-known to everyone, and businesses are harnessing the best of it. With the evolvement of technology, Ai is getting more intertwined with our lives. Let us see how it has influenced the HR world.

    AI and HR

AI is not only about Artificial Intelligence but includes many terms under its domain like machine learning (ML), predictive analytics, deep learning, and more. HR management uses more than one of these applications of AI in its process, and it is quite true that the number of applications that have eased our life doesn't come from a single source. HR management uses predictive analysis and machine learning to understand talent attrition and acquisition. A study shows about 61 percent of companies are using AI to improve their human resource process.

    Talent Acquisition

Scrutinizing hundreds of thousands of CVs and filtering them by hand is quite tedious and takes a considerable amount of time. Here, AI comes to the rescue of the hiring managers and helps them to identify the best candidates in a few minutes.

Virtual assistants for the recruiters can crosscheck the data from the CVs against a list of skills that helped former employees in the same position. Moreover, by using a software solution, one can eliminate human predisposition as the software doesn't have prejudices against specific human traits.

    Training

Having the right skills for a job is very essential today, and job seekers must be open to learning new things with the pace technology is evolving. It is also the responsibility of the employer or the company to provide suggestions and even programs designed to improve the skills of their employees. This is where AI comes to the rescue in assessing which employees need the training and in what domain. It also helps with coming up with a training plan and help people learn better. The specially designed e-learning platforms by a company give access to those employees who need training.

    Future of AI and HR

AI integration in the business world has a long to go. Technology comes both ways with its pros and cons. Though an employee may be judged with 95 percent accuracy that he is going to quit the job, AI has also changed the way employees get rewarded and promotion and has set new parameters to judge them.

The use of AI-based software in the world of HR has reduced human bias and time-consuming automated activities, thus freeing up time for more human communication. Overall, the use of AI in a field like HR can only have benefits, if it's done with care and thoughtfulness for the employee and the company.
