BT Incorporates Zscaler Cloud Security Access Points into Global Network

    By apacciooutlook | Wednesday, July 22, 2020

FREMONT, CA: BT, a provider of telecommunications services and solutions, announces the integration of ZSCALER’s access points into its BT Assure Managed Cloud service’s global network. The integration aims to provide clients with lower latency and better performing applications over secure internet connections. The interconnection also reduces the need of BT’s clients, to move traffic over large distances in order to access Zscaler nodes for secure internet access.

BT’s Assure Managed Cloud service monitors and scans network traffic including SSL-encrypted sessions over the internet. Now, with the integration of Zscaler’s access points, traffic between organizations and the public internet are checked to identify and block potential threats and safeguard intellectual property. BT Assure Managed Cloud includes features such as web filtering, web security, advanced persistent threat detection, mobile security guest/corporate Wi-Fi and cloud based next generation firewall.

Web Filtering protects the company network and staff from undesirable web content while Web Security proactively blocks the known threats before they reach the company network and defends against the unknown “zero-day” threats. The Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) Detection helps in identifying abnormal traffic patterns and malicious behavior. The mobile Security feature protects mobile traffic on both browser and app to ensure the protection of users against advanced web browsing threats. It also helps organizations to stay in compliance with corporate security policies. Cloud Based Next Generation Firewall offers powerful network security, control and visibility without any support of on-premise hardware or software.

Since BT’s Assure Managed Cloud with Zscaler service is a cloud-based service, it does not require any hardware or maintenance and the management of internet policies and reporting are done from a single centralized portal to provide consistent protection and policy across all users in an organization.

“We are pleased to add this improvement to our growing portfolio of solutions helping customers take advantage of the cloud. Based on Zscaler’s cutting edge technology, this latest enhancement of Assure Managed Cloud brings to our customers increased confidence and convenience at no additional cost or investment into hardware or software,” says Mark Hughes, CEO, BT Security.
