FREMONT, CA: Cumulus Networks, a web-scale networking solution provider for enterprise cloud, announces the launch of Cumulus Linux 3.2, aiming to offer easier and flexible networks to all public, private, and hybrid cloud environments. The solution helps build affordable, high-capacity networks for Web-Scale Networking. The Networking Operating System (OS) for Data-Center Switches offers great flexibility towards third party and custom apps.

Its latest features such as Network Command Line Utility (NCLU) provides configuration suggestions to make the transition to Cumulus Linux straightforward for network operators which help them to run the network easily. This offers a uniform way to access Linuxnetworking tools via one central point, using a modern and simple to use interface to manually drive the system.

The Protocol-Independent Multicast implements efficient data distribution over Internet Protocol, enabling organizations to build networks using web-scale networking values. The new version allows safe system upgrades by enabling users to save, and revert to, a previous state if required. The soon to get implemented Ethernet Virtual Private Network (EVPN) feature will simplify highly scalable VXLAN network operation, enabling a controller less overlay architecture. This simplifies the overall Network Virtualization configuration by averting unnecessary flooding across VXLAN tunnels.

“From the very beginning we’ve always strived to make the Cumulus Linux platform ever more flexible, scalable, and usable for networking engineers of all backgrounds,” says JR Rivers, CTO and Co-founder, Cumulus Networks. “With web-scale networking gaining mainstream adoption, these new features arm engineers with a set of tools that will make their own journey to highly scalable networks even easier.”
