Dell's Wyse 5060 to Offer High Compatibility with Citrix Xendesktop, Microsoft RDS and Vmware Horizon
FREMONT, CA: Dell announces the launch of Wyse 5060 for knowledge workers to offer them powerful virtual desktop performance, and support for unified communications solutions. It is a high-performance, highly-efficient thin client, which is easy to deploy and manage thousands of devices, and offers a low total cost of ownership by reducing IT’s time on ongoing management and maintenance.
Wyse 5060 offers enhanced user experience with dual 4K support and robust connectivity options while providing greater security options and complete virtual workspace compatibility with Citrix, Microsoft and VMware. The ThinOS-based thin client operates as a zero client in Citrix environments offering customers with greater choice. VMware BlastExtreme remote protocol is also supported on the WES and ThinLinux-based versions. It delivers flexibility, efficiency and security to organizations for their cloud environments.
The AMD 2.4GHz quad core processor supports up to 8GB RAM and 64GB flash. With embedded Trusted Platform Module (TPM) chipset, the device grants the ability to recognize if a system had been mishandled while safely storing encryption keys, certificates and passwords. It has six USB ports for high-speed peripherals and DisplayPort connectors with both wired and wireless networking.
“Today’s knowledge worker requires access to highly efficient, powerful systems and tools that will enable them to innovate, collaborate and share information in a secure environment,” says Steve Lalla, SVP, Commercial Client Software and Solutions, Dell. “Our new Wyse 5060 quad core thin client provides the performance and capabilities that knowledge workers in virtualized desktop environments demand with the low acquisition cost and ease of management that IT requires.”
