    Digital Disruptions & Transformations: Are Asian organisations prepared to thrive in the new digital economy?

    SINGAPORE: According to the new survey by Thomson Reuters, 78% of Asian businesses view disruption as an opportunity for them, but at the same time 51% of respondents see it as a threat of to their business models. With disruption potentially being a double-edged sword, Asian businesses are working hard to transform themselves to monetise the opportunities disruption is creating whilst also mitigating the threatof obsolescence.                           

    On 6 September at Suntec Singapore, TECHX Asia 2017will demonstrate how industries such as smart cities, factories, logistics, utilitiesandtransport are transforming themselves amidst the digital disruptions brought by emerging technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence, robotics, blockchain, 3D technology, big dataand drones. Visionary keynote speaker, Mr Aric Dromi, Chief Futurologist, Volvo Car Group, Sweden & Executive Advisor, NTTi3.com will be sharing about our digitally-enabled autonomous future and how technology will change the way we think and work. Following that, Ms Julie Olszewski, Executive Director, MSD Global Innovation Hub, Singapore will be addressing the key topic about making sense of data analytics, a crucial element enabling the digital future, and how big data is transforming the future of manufacturing. Hiroshi Saijou, CEO and Managing Director, Yamaha Motor Ventures and Laboratory Silicon Valley, USA will be opening Day Two of the event on the 7th of September with Yamaha’s digital transformation to move beyond traditional manufacturing businesses and build its new future.

    They will be joined by over 120 fellow industry practitioners to highlight use cases on how their organisations have transformed themselves and are thriving at the new digital economy. Featured speakers include expert leaders from Airbus, New Balance, APRIL Fine Paper Trading, ST Logistics, Ministry of Transport, Info-communications Media Development Authority of Singapore (IMDA), Amsterdam Smart City, Meralco, Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited, Sydney Water, Scania, Panasonic R&D, Rolls-Royce, BMW Brilliance Automotive, Eisai Pharmaceuticals, MTR Corporation, Chevron, Telenor Group, YTL Communications, XL Axiata, CAT Telecom, Panalpina, Audi China, Deutsche Bahn, Hong Kong Electric, Thyssenkrupp, Rio Tinto, Tata SIA Airlines, Asahi Glass, Panasonic R&D and many more.

    The event will also feature Guest of honours MrKhoong Hock Yun, Chief Digital Evangelist (CDE), Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) and H.E. Mrs Dorte Bech Vizard, Danish Ambassador to Singapore as well as a smart city keynote panel by government leaders from Malaysia, Denmark, Indonesia, United Kingdom,Netherlands and more.

    Alongside the conference is an exhibition packed with two theatres of free seminar content, a start-up zone featuring 25 of the hottest IoT, AI, Robotics, 3D, Blockchain, cybersecurity, drone and data disruptors in the region and technology showcase by key industry players like TUV SUD Asia Pacific, TATA Communciations, PT. Aldara Sarana Nusantara, Bentley Systems International Ltd, Globe UAV and RIEGL Laser Measurement Systems GmbH will also be showcasing their latest technologies and innovations.

    The event will take place from 6-7 September 2017 at Suntec Convention Centre and set to host over 2,000 attendees in 2 days.
