FREMONT, CA: The Elisabeth-TweeSteden Hospital (ETZ) in Tilburg and Waalwijk, the Netherlands, has implemented a new interactive training platform. It assists clinical personnel in making the best use of Epic, the company's electronic patient dossier (EPD) framework. Following the successful completion of an initial project in 2020, the healthcare company will carry out ANCILE Solutions' uPerform platform.

ETZ is a world-class clinical teaching facility and trauma center that offers emergency services to people of Central Brabant and beyond. With over 6,500 staff, ETZ, one of the largest hospitals in the Netherlands, was searching for an advanced training approach to more efficiently train healthcare professionals in the use of the EPD. In 2020, the company unveiled a new vision for its clinical education program: a hybrid model that offers on-the-job assistance while taking into account various learning styles and interests. ETZ selected uPerform as its digital training platform in December 2020 to offer on-demand training and ongoing support for its Epic EHR system to its entire clinical staff.

Judith van Gerven Biermann, coordinator of the EPD Academy, stated, "We see incredible benefits in using uPerform. It fits in seamlessly with the vision that we have at EPD Academy (and the overall 'Learning House'), which is based on hybrid learning. Everyone learns in his or her own way and must be able to choose from several options to take in the offered subject matter. Workplace learning is one of our main pillars. We, therefore, see great advantages in uPerform's in-application help. We believe that our healthcare professionals can work more safely, faster and more pleasantly with this support. Help is only one click away. We hope that this will also reduce the burden on our EHR coaches, service desk and application experts."

"Over the last few years, we've partnered with hospitals to adapt uPerform to address the difficulties traditional instructor-led training and ongoing support pose to healthcare systems – including high training costs, EMR utilization and compliance issues, and low clinician satisfaction," adds Bobby Zarr.
