Factors Having Negative Impact on DevOps

By Apac CIO Outlook | Thursday, December 26, 2019
    Tweet

The potential productivity of a developer is impacted by a number of factors, which include tools, practices, policies, and individu

als preferences of a particular organization. There are a number of factors that impose a challenge to the developer's capability hindering the growth of DevOps efficiency as a whole

Fremont, CA: The teams of developers need to independently develop their own ways to work together using suitable communication tools and techniques that can empower the workflow and everyday teamwork. The teamwork, as well as the workflow, get complicated due to the collaboration of the team within an organization or externally. The use of different tools by different groups or individuals in an organization causes communication silos, which ultimately affects the efficiency of the developer. This factor makes the process harder and slower for the organization.

There are a number of products that offers a wide array of enterprise messaging capabilities. Legacy messaging platforms such as jabber, Lync, Yammer, or Microsoft Teams develop communication and so

cial network to enable group chats and file sharing. However, for the developers, simple chat tools are not enough. Developers require more efficient solutions to support the complexity of the DevOps teamwork. Tools such as MS Team provide necessary chat capabilities and facilitate effective search, granular user permissions, as well as text and code formatting features.

Another major challenge the developers are facing at present is the lack of control over data security. Data security is the most sensitive challenge to an organization and also for the ones who have strict compliance requirements. The IT team must be consistently having strong security stance over any other company system, data processing as well as messaging. However, technology grows at a faster pace. The developers need to have the best set of tools supporting the need for communication and data security. If the organization fails to provide best-suited tools depending on the requirement of the developer, the organization might have to face issues with the unauthorized tools, which are out of control of the developer and leaves the organization's data transfer and data security at high risk.
