Expands Manufacturing DX in Japan through MOU with ADOC International

Suwon, Republic of Korea – FutureMain, a leading provider of predictive maintenance solutions for digital transformation in manufacturing plants, led by CEO Lee Sun-hwi, participated in the 'SMART FACTORY Expo 2024' held at Tokyo Big Sight from the 24th to the 26th of this month. The strategic business activities aimed to expand the manufacturing DX market in Japan.

The 'SMART FACTORY Expo 2024' is Japan's largest exhibition of smart factory solutions, bringing together various advanced solutions such as IoT/AI technologies, FA equipment, industrial robots, and factory network solutions to enhance competitiveness and efficiency in manufacturing.

For the second consecutive year, FutureMain showcased its Smart Factory predictive maintenance solution, ExRBM, which automatically diagnoses machinery faults, to the Japanese market at the expo. Collaborating with ADOC International, an ICT engineering company in Japan, FutureMain engaged in joint efforts to provide local 5G solutions for predictive maintenance of smart factory equipment. During the exhibition, FutureMain and ADOC conducted consultations and demonstrations for over 150 companies from various industries, including power plants, chemical plants, and manufacturing companies.

On the 23rd, FutureMain held a signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with ADOC at the ADOC office in Tachikawa, Tokyo, combining ADOC's local 5G technology with FutureMain's AI predictive maintenance solution to accelerate manufacturing DX in Japan. ADOC International specializes in providing local 5G networks and related technologies. With a growing interest in smart factories and DX in Japan, the collaboration aims to leverage the strengths of local 5G for flexible and efficient network infrastructure within factories.

Joji Kobayashi, CEO of ADOC International, stated, "Recently, more than half of the equipment owned by Japanese manufacturing companies has exceeded 50 years in use, indicating a serious aging problem. There is a growing interest in DX and smart factory construction to address this issue." He added, "FutureMain is a promising company in the Korean smart factory market. Through this collaboration, we will actively promote the acceleration of smart factories using local 5G and aim to realize DX in Japanese manufacturing."

CEO Lee Sun-hwi of FutureMain commented, "The high level of interest from Japanese companies during the exhibition lays a strong foundation for us to actively expand our business in Japan within this year." He further stated, "As expertise in predictive maintenance for manufacturing is continuously demanded for the digital transformation of Japanese manufacturing, we have great expectations for our entry into the Japanese smart factory market, especially with the strong technical capabilities of ADOC in communication infrastructure."

FutureMain has developed the ExRBM predictive maintenance solution based on 37 years of engineering big data accumulated through equipment diagnostics and vibration/noise consulting. ExRBM monitors equipment status in real-time and automatically diagnoses faults before they occur, providing solutions and recommendations for optimal operation, even without specialized AI experts or equipment diagnostic experts on-site. Currently, FutureMain supplies predictive maintenance solutions to various domestic and international manufacturing companies in sectors such as secondary batteries, power plants, shipbuilding, chemical plants, and oil & gas.

ADOC International, located in Tachikawa, Tokyo, is an ICT company providing local 5G networks. Since its establishment, ADOC has expanded its ICT engineering business both domestically and internationally, focusing mainly on the 5G domain. Additionally, ADOC offers solutions in cloud environment integration management, network orchestration, big data, and RPA, with a recent focus on software quality verification in new development environments such as Agile and DevOps. As the Japanese distributor of 'Eggplant,' an AI test automation tool, ADOC provides advanced testing services covering automation design, execution, and operation. Recently, ADOC signed a business agreement with FutureMain Co., Ltd. in Korea to distribute smart factory 5G integration solutions for manufacturing DX initiatives.
