Healthcare Industry to Adopt Wireless Healthcare Asset Management for Enhanced Service, Reports Research and Markets

By Apac CIO Outlook | Thursday, January 01, 1970
    Tweet

FREMONT, CA: Research and Markets announces their report titled ‘Global Wireless Healthcare Asset Management Market - Forecasts and Trends (2015 - 2020)’. According to the report, the increasing need for real-time asset monitoring solution is the major driving force for the global wireless healthcare market.

Wireless healthcare asset management is a solution used to monitor and manage asset such as equipment, tools, patient and other hospital professionals using wireless technology. Hospitals have to manage a number of costly and mobile systems, tools and equipment's due to which a significant portion of time is wasted in managing these asset inventories which are lost, stolen or misplaced. This wireless technology is used to monitor and manage equipment, tools,

patient and other hospital professionals, reducing cost and time. The technology also helps manage lost, stolen or misplaced products by offering an efficient real time solution to keep track of assets and coordinating with the professionals and patients in the hospital.

With the rising demand for portable monitoring and management solution to improve operational efficiency of healthcare institutions, wireless healthcare asset management is playing a huge role in the industry. The wireless technology provides portability, flexibility and scalability to the overall system and also ensures easy search of assets and categories. It indicates both room-level location and availability status as in on/off, sterilized/unsterile, in-use and free along with on time alerts for servicing the equipment and theft alert in case of equipment crossing geo-fenced area.

Even though there are various compatibility issues with the existing system of the technology, like high initial costs, lack of knowledge and expertise related to its functioning and benefits, companies like Cisco, Ekahau, Stanley Healthcare, Centrak, Intelligent Insites, Awarepoint Corporation, Shipcom, Camcode, Verizon Enterprise Solutions, ASAP Systems have adopted the technology and trying to build on it.
