Hitachi Data Systems Unveil its New Flash Portfolio for Better IT Infrastructure

    By apacciooutlook | Friday, December 11, 2015

SANTA CLARA, CA: Hitachi Data Systems, a provider of enterprise storage solutions, announced an array of new flash-based technologies that offer high performance, automation and resiliency over disk based technology. The latest products are targeted to address the needs of the IT industry.

The newly launched portfolio comprises of latest all-flash and hybrid flash arrays, performance optimization software and data analytics capabilities that include new all-flash Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform (VSP) F Series, enhanced models of the Hitachi VSP G Series and next generation Hitachi Flash modules with inline data compression (FMD DC2) and enhanced Hitachi Automation Director and Hitachi Data Center Analytics tools for improved Response times and greater effective capacity.

With Hitachi VSP technology’s resiliency and performance, the new additions in the VSP Family such as the VSP F400, F600 and F800 offer all-flash storage and built in automation software. The VSP F array provides an unmatched 1.4M Input/Output operations per Second IOPS for most demanding applications and leverages new FMD DC2 (flash modules), to provide inline,  no penalty compression for increased capacity, thus lowering latency under 1ms even at maximum scale.

With optional synchronous and asynchronous replication of the F series, easy-to-use replication management is also included for complete data protection. The F series has a storage capacity ranging from 12.8TB to 448TB offering all flash solutions. For effective capacity, better response time and return on investment, Hitachi VSP G Series also enhanced by leveraging FMD DC2.  The FMD DC2 design delivers up to five times more write (IOPS) and three times more read IOPS than Standard Solid State Drives (SSDs). The FMD DC2’s available capacity is up to 6.4TB with penalty-free inline compression.

Hitachi Automation Director enables users to accelerate, simplify and streamline the installation of new applications and resources faster through its predefined service templates and automated management workflows.

    Hitachi Data Center Analytics

Hitachi Data Center Analytics is a software tool that enables users to strategically place their flash investments across multi-vendor hardware ecosystem with granular performance monitoring and analysis. By monitoring the Hitachi’s and other third-party storage, the Hitachi Data Center identifies and resolves ecosystem performance challenges and boosts capacity planning.

“With the best flash solutions for solving today’s IT infrastructure needs and clear capabilities to help design flash for use cases of the future, Hitachi is a partner you need on this journey,” says Asim Zaheer, Chief Marketing officer, Hitachi Data Systems. "With our broad portfolio of flash solutions and advanced, patented technology, Hitachi is your trusted partner to accelerate business outcomes with an all-Flash, software-defined infrastructure that eliminates slowdowns and accelerates your time to market."
