TOKYO, JAPAN: Hitachi Industrial Equipment Systems (HIES) and Hitachi Industry and Control Solutions announce the development of next-gen industrial controllers catering to various industry verticals such as packing machinery, machine tool, semiconductor/liquid crystal manufacturing and instrumentation. The industrial controllers are capable of achieving high performance and simple configuration with open technologies to accommodate global rollout and the industry revolutionizing Internet of Things (IoT).

The high-end versions of the next-generation industry controllers will be offered by Hitachi Industry & Control Solutions and the middle range versions by HIES. Hitachi tries to address the growing challenges of manufacturing industry as adoption of IoT is on rise. Machine to machine communication has enabled interaction of devices, but different programming languages used in these devices are limiting the capabilities of seamless communication.

Hitachi adopts a programming language that is in compliance with IEC61131-3 international standards. The latest controllers support the construction of global production systems. It embraces EtherCAT to provide connections with facility devices that support EtherCAT, thereby, creating an environment for seamless data transfer to the cloud.

Hitachi incorporates CODESYS, a software PLC, a sequence control and advanced motion control synchronized with sensors to deliver high performance. The company has developed next-gen industrial controllers as PAC (programmable automation controllers) with both PLC and IPC functions. These controllers have a smaller footprint and contribute in the reducing operating costs.

    Mid-Range Controller

The Mid-range controller from HIES, HX Series, are compact and can be installed in facility devices. The main CPU module comprises of three built-in LAN ports, available on models such as high functioning, motion and redundancy models, enables controllers to communicate independently on network systems that include facility devices, industrial controllers and high-level information systems.

    High end Controller

The high end controller, HF-W/IoT Series, by Hitachi Industry and Control Solutions will be offered in two models – a single disc model and a RAID model for IoT applications. The HF-W/IoT series boasts Intel i3-4360 processor to empower processing performance and offers high volume data storage.
