FREMONT, CA: A recent study reveals that menu boards attract 56 percent of customers, and 74 percent preferred an easy-to-read set up as a top priority. Many restaurants are accepting the fact that redesigning to simplify the look and feel of menu boards improves sales. Despite the initial cost, digital menu boards can help restaurants boost sales and enhance the guest experience. Menu board optimization provides a chance to simplify without focusing solely on what was being cut. This, in turn, opens up opportunities for future menu innovation. Restaurant brands should invest in easier-to-read menu boards. Also, the cost of hardware and software has gone down significantly, thus allowing the restaurant managers to make more investment.

With digital signage, measuring advertising effectiveness is getting easier slowly. This is because restaurants can directly integrate data from their menu board with other systems such as point-of-sale. Keeping the menu items or pricing as such, brands would be well served to improve perceptions of food quality that could lift perceptions of value. Another significant advantage of restaurants is that they allow restaurants to easily switch menu items on the fly and directly engage with guests. Restaurants nowadays look for a solution that offers system-on-a-chip display, pricing, images and descriptions, and cloud-based CMS. These cloud-based digital menu boards make it easy for owners to edit and update digital menu boards.

Any digital menu board software should have little to no learning curve and be easy to implement. Before selecting a digital menu board, restaurants must take measurements of the available space. Followed by space allocation, make sure of the number of screens to be installed. Then outline the menu and items to be displayed. They should also consider integrating large images and videos into the menu boards. For making necessary changes, the menu board should contain drag and drop widgets that are easy to use and manage. As customers purchase food with their eyes, adding a screen for media-based promotions would be the best option.

Many digital signage solutions are available in the market, and restaurants must choose the right one that could serve the purpose.
