BEIJING: IBM collaborate with 21Vianet Group- a leading internet data centre services provider- to incorporate blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT) and advanced cloud data services on Bluemix for greater cloud innovation in China.

Bluemix is designed to create new apps or migrate existing ones and offer IaaS and PaaS cloud services to help solve complex business problems in the cloud. It helps ensure the future evolutions of Chinese cloud apps. IBM will also offer Swift to Chinese companies, which will help the globe’s largest population of iOS developers to more rapidly design and deploy mobile apps.

IBM’s blockchain technology, based on the Linux Foundation’s open-source Hyperledger Project, provides an open infrastructure to quickly begin building and testing new blockchain applications and industry use cases. It gives the ability to easily and quickly deploy blockchain network to test security, availabilityand performance. The availability of IBM Blockchain services on IBM Bluemix in China will allow Chinese companies to download, install and run a Hyperledger Fabric Blockchain network on Docker-enabled environments and get delivered on the cloud via IBM Bluemix. This is an initiative targeted to industries such as financial services, supply chains, IoT, risk management, digital rights management and healthcare.

Chinese industries including manufacturing, automotive, electronics and healthcare equipment companies are looking to build with a greater volume of external data. IBM’s Watson IoT platform enables developers of these industries to connect devices and things, capture and sort IoT and other data, build apps and generate valuable insights for operational efficiencies, improved client experiences and new business opportunities. It provides organizations with new insight for transformation and innovation.

“Today’s launch of blockchain and our IoT platform through the IBM Cloud is a tremendous boon for Chinese companies,” says Ernie Hu, General Manager, Cloud, IBM China. “Providing the infrastructure of Bluemix, combined with these latest technologies from both IBM and a growing roster of partners and Chinese service providers, will equip our country’s developers with the set of tools they need to fuel more intelligent and advanced innovations across China’s fastest-growing industries, including manufacturing and financial services.”
