On October 28, 2018, IBM announced its acquisition of Red Hat, an open source software company that enhances businesses in programmatic approach and manage hybrid clouds through DevOps practices. Ginny Rometty, Chief executive of IBM, calls the contract as a game changer, where the probability of IBM approaching towards world’s number one hybrid cloud provider will increase along with the impact on certain Indian operations of the combined entity.

Furthermore, a survey by International Data Corporation showcased that over 64 percent of the organizations are already embraced with multiple clouds, but seven percent of clients have stated that they had developed a true hybrid cloud. Another 24 percent said that their organization had achieved a higher degree of inter-communication amongst multiple clouds. But by acquiring Red Hat, IBM made it clear that its main agenda is to employ Red Hat as a hybrid cloud and enhance its cloud-based service platform. As the shift has moved towards cloud technologies, there is a requirement of efficient tools to analyze its integration performance with other business applications.

However, with DevOps tool in demand, the limitation that arises due to application performance and integration can be analyzed and helped to achieve effective application design. This process will be continuous from both the end of production as well as users, which helps in minimizing the software bugs and bringing out the latest advancement through the development cycle. By integrating DevOps in the cloud platform helps to minimize the overall enterprise money and time required to address the client feedback.

In recent days, with an increase in data over one end, the number of users dependent on that particular data is also increased. This cause has enabled the high amount of pressure on the IT sector to manage complex infrastructure as well as providing accurate data to the clients. But, mastering DevOps in a multi-cloud platform helps in achieving higher processing speed and analyze multiple tasks at the same time.

Furthermore, the capability of an individual company to distinguish itself will be recognized through the DevOps maturity process, which relies on providing efficient services to clients. There still arise limitations due to the relative immature properties.

The objectives and benefits captured through DevOps in the cloud is not an automatic process and require a huge amount of brainpower and upfront investment to achieve the objectives effectively. But through understanding, a higher level of commitment, it's potent to enhance agility, time to market, and developers’ creativity, businesses can scale DevOps in the cloud platform without disrupting their workflow.
