    Important Healthcare Technology Trends

Apac CIO Outlook | Thursday, December 03, 2020

Telehealth has grown over the last few years, and understandably so, as it can make a huge contribution to emergency care services. Telehealth can track and treat a number of patients at a distance during an emergency.

Fremont, CA: Healthcare is one of the most critical, diverse sectors. Constant demand for innovation, increase in its production, efficiency, accessibility and affordability make it one of those industries that is full of new opportunities and innovations.

As the COVID-19 pandemic unfolds, the healthcare sector around the world has undergone a radical transition to deal with the crisis. This has greatly broadened the reach of technology-driven healthcare solutions.

Technology such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, VR, AR, Wearables will emerge as essential tools to help healthcare professionals and organizations work more effectively.

Let us look at some healthcare technology trends:

    Telehealth Enabling Rapid Change

Telehealth has grown over the last few years, and understandably so, as it can make a huge contribution to emergency care services. Telehealth can track and treat a number of patients at a distance during an emergency.

Telehealth is highly successful in saving both the physician and the patients time and discomfort.

Doctors can follow up with the patients virtually, which reduces the strain of last-minute appointments. Hence, telehealth is truly bringing a new era in the virtual reality of health care.

The technology of telehealth has been significantly expanded by Cognihab, who have successfully designed solutions for various vision disorders, movement-related disorders, and pre/post-chemo cancer rehabilitation.

    Digital Health

Digital health is increasingly occupying a significant role in people’s everyday lives, making it a worthy instrument in the area of medical devices and healthcare technology trends for 2020.

Wearables and smart devices can keep track of the activity of patients, such as sleep habits, heart rate, calorie intake, or time of exercise. This will allow caregivers to get a better picture of the patient's status and to change it accordingly.

For instance, wearable devices can detect and notify doctors about a patient’s unusual electrocardiography pattern which eventually lessen down the risks of more complicated ailments.

Digital medical devices such as wearables, health sensors, and trackers are being used combining it with the Internet of things. It enables the patients to view their data on their devices.
