The report further states that the market may rise by 6.7 percent on a sequential basis and generate revenues of $2.47 billion in the same period.
The increase in portfolio for embracing digital transformation has acted as one of the primary reason for the market growth in third-quarter of the current fiscal year. According to the report, enterprise segment has increased by8.4 percent closing at $1.45 billion during this period. The increase in deployment of 802.11ac standard in enterprises has accounted for 80.9 percent of access point revenues compared to 802.11n standard. However, the WLAN has not seen rapid growth in consumer market with 802.11ac standard accounting for only 25.2 percent of shipments and 52.7% of revenue in 3Q16, reports IDC.
IDC also reveals that the market will find major foot-hills in APAC region with China being the largest contributor with 55.7 percent growth. The other regions such as Western Europe (6.7 percent), Germany (26.7percent), Spain (23.5 percent), and Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) 6.3 percent has further embarked the growth of WLAN market.
"With enterprises and service providers investing in digital transformation-related mobile infrastructure upgrades and network refreshes, APeJ recorded very strong 3Q16 growth, with most of the other regions making similar investments albeit on a smaller scale," says Petr Jirovsky, Research Manager, Worldwide Networking Trackers. "This really speaks to the now near universally accepted use of WLAN and mobility for mission-critical enterprise applications."
