Government and regulatory bodies such as FDA need to introduce regulations by setting up a standard committee for the safety and security of devices and people.

Fremont, CA: The Internet of Things (IoT) has been disrupting different fields such as information technology, data analytics, agriculture, and healthcare to protect privacy as it is the main reason for other issues. Combines effort from the government, civil society, and private sectors will play a crucial part in securing values to protect IoT such as:

    Safety of Patients:

Many IoT devices are left unattended because they are connected with real-world objects. Any technical error in security can be fatal for patients if used on them as wearable devices.

    Interoperability:

IoT technologies need to be integrated to help maintain a common framework and the standard for IoT devices. Interoperability of IoT with outdated devices should be necessary as the standardization process is still lacking.

    Lack of Government Support:

Government and regulatory bodies such as FDA need to introduce regulations by setting up a standard committee for the safety and security of devices and people.

    Scalability:

Internet-enabled devices are connected in a massive network, and a vast amount of data are required to be processed. The system that stores and assesses the data from these IoT devices should be scalable. Today, everyday objects are connected with each other through the Internet. The raw data collected from these devices need big data analytics and cloud storage to translate into useful data.

    Design-Based Issues:

As issues in technology design increase, there is a need to resolve problems concerning design, such as less computation power, less energy, and low memory.

    Security and Personal Privacy:

There has been no research on IoT security vulnerabilities and their optimizations. It needs to guarantee confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the personal data of patients.
