FREMONT, CA: Juniper Networks magnifies performance, density and operation efficiencies of its Software Defined Network (SDN)-ready Juniper Networks MX Series 3D Universal Edge Routing portfolio with new hardware and software features that triple throughput and offer network automation. The latest enhancements will offer scalability and automation for service providers and cloud operators to strengthen their next-gen network offerings.

To stay on top of the competitive IT industry, large enterprises are building sophisticated networks for the deployment of hybrid cloud and flexible wide area networks. The innovation of new tools becomes necessary to automate manual, innovation-stifling tasks and allow advance in programmability within the network, and improving operations and service velocity.

Powered by programmable Trio silicon and Juniper Networks Junos Software, MX Series offers customers investment protection. It also provides network application development platform that seamlessly integrates with SDN and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) solutions.

    New MX Series line cards

The new MPC7, MPC8 and MPC9 line cards are powered by programmable Trio silicon. It provides high-density network connectivity and unmatched bandwidth, subscriber and service scale. The400 GbE-ready MPC9 provides 1.6 Tbps of throughput that enable a single MX2020 to scale to 32 Tbps of throughput, enough to stream more than 2 million 4K videos simultaneously. The new MPC7 provide customer investment protection by doubling the performance of all currently installed MX240, MX480 and MX960.

    Juniper Extension Toolkit (JET)

JET uses open application programming interfaces (APIs) providing new automation capabilities in the carrier-class Junos software, and develops highly customized third-party applications including provisioning and self-healing capabilities. These applications residing on or off MX2010 or MX2020 interact seamlessly with the network layer. JET is available in all Juniper platforms that run Junos software, and it also supports a standardized, vector-independent configuration and management capability, OpenConfig with customizable YANG data models for flexible vendor integration.

    Junos Telemetry Interface

Junos Telemetry Interface is a high frequency telemetry export function on a networking platform. It offers SDN/NFV migrations by synchronizing operational states to external controllers, and optimizes the performance of network and fault management.

“You know you’re onto something when you have a platform that has continuously outpaced Moore’s Law since the first MX shipped in 2006. As Juniper’s flagship edge routing platform, the MX Series is the market leader in feature availability, use case support, performance, reliability, scale, and now, with the addition of advanced Junos software features, we are extending our automation capabilities,” says Jonathan Davidson, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Juniper Development and Innovation.“In an industry that’s constantly touting the ‘new,’ it’s important to remember that customers are making significant technology investments with the expectation that it will continue to deliver ROI for many years.  With the MX Series, we believe customers can invest with the confidence that the platform will exceed requirements for future network demands.”
