At the sharp edge of this sword is L3 MAPPS, a Canada-based control and simulation solution provider has launched Orchid Immersive Experience (Orchid IX), the latest display technology for accurate 3D immersion without the use of VR headsets.
Orchid IX makes 3D content more engaging at a near-retinal resolution in an interactive environment. Orchid IX is available in three formats. A single-user Immersive Workstation, a three-user Immersive Theater, and a six-to-ten person Immersive Auditorium. The technology supports realistic asset visualizations for planning and training on ships, submarines and power plants including refurbishment, radiation worker training and decommissioning. The product is available for shipbuilders, engineers, operators of naval vessels, architects, project managers, commercial marine vessels, power plants, and innovation and training centers, and more. Orchid IX will help project teams to increase output, reduce project risks, and improve project outcomes by simplifying the design and reviewing Building Information Modeling (BIM). Furthermore, Orchid IX will facilitate finalization of designs by enabling virtual visits of high-value new build projects.
