From spotting trends in massive datasets to automating financial processes, AI has been revolutionizing different industries. Coming to education, AI-powered software has the proclivity to streamline administrative tasks in a university by processing student enrollment applications or reporting academic results, thereby reducing costs and improving efficiency.
According to a recent study conducted by researchers at Stanford University, AI tools can evaluate up to 15,000 essays concurrently. The study also revealed that teachers agreed with the AI tool evaluation almost 94.5 percent times. In another instance, a professor from Georgia University, Ashok Goel, designed an AI tool called Jill Watson to provide online responses to student queries. What’s interesting about Jill Watson was that, for the first five months student did not realize that they were interacting with a machine. Focused on answering the basic queries of students, the software is a live example on how AI technology can be leveraged to infuse new dimensions in the education industry.
Further, focused to provide individualized support to students, AI can be used to customize the way study materials are provided to students. The learning experience can be engineered as per the grasping capabilities of students. With the ability to self-learn over time, AI tools can revamp the process of education.
