Major Benefits of Outsourcing Mobile Device Management in Healthcare

Apac CIO Outlook | Tuesday, December 07, 2021
    Tweet

Organizations can redirect their focus while ensuring mobile devices are ready for anything by offloading the burden from in-house IT teams. DaaS capabilities can be used to support both initial mobility deployments and on-demand service requests at any time.

Fremont, CA: COVID-19's ongoing logistical and safety challenges have created a necessary distance between clinicians and patients, disrupting traditional modes of care.

However, there is good news: Mobility efforts are enabling wider deployments of telehealth, virtual rounding, as well as internal communications, whether from a few feet or hundreds of miles away. Smartphones, tablets, and mobile computers, among other tools, provide clinicians with a critical presence in remote and high-risk areas.

    DaaS Enables a Smart Partnership

Organizations can redirect their focus while ensuring mobile devices are ready for anything by offloading the burden from in-house IT teams. DaaS capabilities can be used to support both initial mobility deployments and on-demand service requests at any time.

There is a requirement: According to a 2018 IDC survey, 63 percent of IT decision-makers believe they could devote more time to other projects, such as security if they spent less time on device management.

Perhaps more telling, more than half of IDC respondents believe they spend far too much time procuring and managing devices and that lifecycle management optimization is an important area for improvement.

Organizations Can Be Safe and Sound

Partnerships in DaaS can have financial benefits. Notably, they can be scaled up or down to avoid overspending or having too few devices on hand, and the vendor-agnostic approach reduces the costs and complexities associated with sourcing across brands.

This also saves time for organizations: DaaS provides 24/7 access for troubleshooting as well as quick response to replace or repair devices across locations, freeing up your own staffers' time to handle new and evolving tasks in the midst of the pandemic.

As more mobile tools enter the care delivery ecosystem, protecting devices from cyberthreats become increasingly important.
