Management Science Associates Leverages MapR Converged Data Platform to Build Next-Generation Data Warehouse

    apacciooutlook | Thursday, April 07, 2016

SAN JOSE, CA: Management Science Associates (MSA), a demand chain data processing and analytical solutions provider, announces that it is using the MapR Converged Data Platform to develop a next-generation data warehouse environment.

MSA collects and processes data from 7000 distributor warehouse files and reports their shipments to over one million unique retail outlets. This data is analyzed by MSA to provide its customers actionable insights to drive their businesses. Insights such as understanding of new product acquisitions, trade program planning and execution and mitigation of voids and out-of-stocks are provided by MSA to their customers.

MSA is building a next-generation data warehouse environment to improve its analytic capabilities by using near-real-time predictive analysis and insights. In doing so MSA selected MapR as its platform to build the warehouse environment.

MSA chose MapR as the platform to build its data warehouse because of MapR’s capabilities and support for multi-tenancy for data, processing, and users; integrated, enterprise-grade NoSQL database; and superior performance and compression.

“MapR is committed to providing customers with advanced processing, storage and real-time analytics capabilities to meet their business objectives,” says Jack Norris, senior vice president, Data and Applications, MapR Technologies. “MSA is building a next-generation data warehouse that will converge many data sources for analysis and help generate additional revenue and achieve a competitive advantage for the company.”
