SAN FRANCISCO, CA: MapR, a provider of converged data platform announces stream processing training via its Academy’s On-demand training program. The free training benefits developers and IT operation teams to learn about Big Data technologies like Kafka.
MapR Streams is a publish subscribe event streaming system for Big Data, which is integrated into the MapR Converged Data Platform. MapR converges Hadoop, Spark and other open source technologies into a unified, enterprise-grade platform for streaming, real-time database capabilities, and enterprisestorage. MapR Streams provides developers Kafka-compatibility, integrated security, multi-data center support as an integrated component of the MapR converged data platform.
The free curriculum from MapR includes DEV 350: Stream Essentials, a training program for developers who want to understand stream processing. In this course, users will be exposed to core concepts that are taught using real use-case scenarios, according to the course’s website.
The other course on stream processing is called DEV 351: Stream Development. The course is designed to give developers skills to build simple MapR Streams applications, along with frameworks for building and configuring stream processing applications. The free curriculum at MapR Academy also covers Apache Spark, Apache Drill, and other technologies.
The courses offer the same depth and content as instructor-led training courses, and include hands-on exercises, labs and quizzes to ensure an effective, interactive learning experience.
